So your point is that when LIV starts to charge, you won't watch? Even Bryson has come out this week saying he hopes golf comes together again. Just watch, once the original contracts' end, which is this year or next, they'll miss actual serious competion. Take Brooks out of the majors this year, How did Bryson do? Cam Smith? DJ? Poulter? Garcia? Gooch? Kaymer? McDowell? Oosthuizen? Reed? Stenson? Bubba? Westwood? Seriously, all these fans saying LIV roster is stacked lol all those names have really poor records in the majors. Some this last 5 years. LIV have 54 player roster, and if you take, Rahm, Cam Smith, Brooks and Bryson out of that, its a seriously poor field. DJ one of the biggest names and he had hardly won on tour this last 3 years 😂

100% agree as an Aussie. LIV on Free to air tv is brilliant. I’m watching LIV. I’m surprised fans of great golf aren’t watching LIV. The play is spectacular. Talent is abundant. I like the team aspect. what I’m not liking is the music, the graphics on the screen. That’s about it really. People keep talking about players selling out etc. since 1997, the beginning of the Tiger era, golf has been about big money…the facade that legacy is important is true to only 1% of tour players. The rest just wanna play and hopefully win enough money for a great life. I fault no one for taking a payday. In fact, shame of the PGA for making billions in revenue and dispersing that among executives and board members than sharing it with the players on the lower end of the pool. Every player on the PGA should, at a minimum, have their tournament expenses, including travel and accommodations, covered entirely by the PGA. Sponsors can pay them for appearances. And currently if they make the cut they get prize money…I am suggesting the prize pool should be distributed to those that don’t make the cut. Something like $4000 for a missed cut. I think LIV is going to continue to attract players, and soon, the PGA will look like the Korn ferry tour. All B players!

I have followed your channel Pete but I think your views are a little off. I only watch the majors and the Ryder cup. The Liv I watch all of it. Liv is backed by the PIF and the PGA tour isn't. Peter, meantime i really like more and more the serious way you watch on golf! You are back on your way to the open with new thoughts like "distance isn't all". That's good! Bur you also should open up your mind to LIV and what there is going on. It's wrong if you say that nobody is watching LIV - i do and i watched 25 or 30 years ago european tour events with faldo Langer, Ballesteros, olazabal, Lyle, woosnam, couples and Tiger (! Yes he traveled to good oldest Europe..) competing in one field. All that is destroyed by the PGA tour, European players nearly get no official points, so no invitations for events and at least way less money - but the European state are winning the ryder cup, and the handful on the PGA tour are dominating the events there (Rahm 4 wins last season, hovland fedex champion...last week 3 European on the podium... ) do that every neutral view of the PGA says that there is going to something wrong. The PGA doesn't own the golf sport, it's not their property! Why are 3 major events in USA and not all over the world? In tennis there is one in Australia, one in France, one in UK and one in USA. And in golf? Did you watch LIV in Australia? That was phenomenal and this continent deserves a a major! What's in Asia? What in Africa? LIV golf tries to develop the game in this regions, supports the Asia tour and supports young players, gives them a financial fundament with their contracts. The way golf is managed by the PGA is a model from yesterday and not the future. Golf has to go all over the world and not in the deepest corner of the USA. Sponsor want to make business not only in USA, there are market to make on other places. The idea of LIV is paying players like a employee and entering with them the hole golf world. That's not wrong thought! And for all: it makes fun to watch the best players of the world, and most of them are on LIV now. Have a great time and a successful way to the open! Cheers

Not a massive follower of professional golf on tv as I’d rather be playing, plus it’s so slow. 4-5 hrs for 2/3 balls is mad. As professionals it’s about money, Bryson was open enough about that when he signed, getting more than he would have won on the tour even if he won 50% of the events. The only real weapon PGA and DP tours have is entry to majors. Masters is an invite event not run by PGA, The Open has qualifying for anyone of the appropriate handicap to enter. That only leaves PGA championship and US Open. The PGA and LIV talks will probably bring something along the lines of what Rory had commented, team events last few months of the regular season, with odd event through the year and PGA able to invite the field they want for their two major events, and LIV guys back on the tour should they wish . It may be that we see three divisions in professional golf with promotion and relegation. Asia tour, DP tour and then PGA. Top 20 in DP getting cards for PGA, bottom 20 in PGA DP card.

The key is understanding the situation.. Pif arnt "paying" these players.. they are "investing" in these player... These are big dogs, making big plays, with even bigger wallets.. All for a HUGE return Grab your popcorn and enjoy the show..

What is the huge return though? Declining viewing figures ? At the end of the day they just want to get a bit of the pga tour which they most likely will but there will be no return on Liv as it currently stands

@decentcomment9447 Yeh I understand it seems that way.. however this is a long term plan.. We have seen it before with the likes of Saudi arabian investments.. I don't believe these boys would be handing this cash out with out having an extensive outlayed plan to make money, and I'm sure they will do just that.

@@Peter-hb9bm but that's the thing, Liv in it's current form won't become profitable because barely anyone watches it. So they need to hope that the pga tour merger happens but even then the pga tour is valued at a 1.5 bn dollar company, which is pretty much the same as what liv have spent just on players. Where is the massive return even if they get to the other side?

@decentcomment9447 totally agree with ya in its current state, can't argue with that.. however this is a constantly evolving model. For example they in the works for world golf ranking points, tv rights, potential further sponsorship, furthering their already talented player pool, expanding to more counties and demographics.. etc.. So I agree currently now it can't be that profitable.. however in time, i believe they can be. In the famous word of Connor McGregor.. They ain't here to take part, they are here to take over.. But time will tell I guess..

The problem is the sport is about making money. And what I heard is he just made a lot of money to do less work. Isn't that what we're all striving for more money less work. Don't be idiots. You're acting like the touris a prestige thing. It is not anymore the p. G. A. Rules with an iron thumb and if you get in their way it will take everything they can from you. Time to turn the tables thank god for L I v
