Musical footnote: I guess the first time they sang together was on the (quite brilliant) Phil Collins song "Take Me Home" in the mid-80's. (They sang backing vocals with - if memory serves me - Helen Terry.)

The Pamesan uhm no. Phil and Genesis asked Peter to do the Genesis farewell tour in 2007 *and play the entire Lamb Lies Down On Broadway record* with Steve Hackett on board. Hackett said yes if Pete did it. *PETER SAID NO* Collins responded rather angrily with "I guess Peter didn't want to have a lot of fun!." Phil knew playing The Lamb with Gabriel and Hackett would have been *huge* prog rock history and a colossal conclusion to Genesis. They settled for playing The Carpet Crawlers as the last song and conclusion of Genesis. *Peter ruined it*
