As an artist, the part where he says about giving yourself "expectations" and such, was a tearjerker. I often find myself giving up after not being able to pull off what I initially had in mind, it breaks me on the inside, that despite creating numerous proud works in the past, theres still that lingering thought in the back of my head like "You are not improving" "that's too tiring to draw" "your style sucks compared to others" "you will not be able to do it", etc. Doodling used to be relaxing, then I realized the talent that I have, suddenly It felt like burden, a challenge, a competition. I sometimes stare at my unfinished work and subconsciously say "that's it?", it changes creativity into overthinking, I think about words instead of lines. I've always believed in my skill but not in my mental capacity, and it relieves me to know that this torment isn't only exclusive to me. Thank you for the video.

I think one of the thing that draw me most toward peter is his personallity, making everything about having a suiting and relaxing experience, reminding him and others that when expectations are too high, just stop and relax, and make it simple, reminding that art is good to be enjoyable to do in the process, it's just relaxing and suiting to hear actually hahaha. I feel like listening to a turtle, going steady forward and reminding ''all is well'' and ''one step forward, don't think of the next, it'll be there when it'll be time for it''. :)

What you said about what's the point of creating if you dont enjoy it...man. that's something that's taken me a long time to learn. I was doing commission work constantly and it just...sucked any joy out of it for me. Everything had to be perfect because I was being paid and... idk. It made me realize I don't want a career in art. I'm in school now for marine biology and drawing just for myself and I'm a lot happier. I hope other artists struggling with stuff like that listen to your advice. Because its solid.

Sometimes I feel like art is just trying to make a bunch of lines that look good to combat the ones that look bad on the same piece of paper, canvas, saw-blade, etc. As if there's a small war going on in the piece that is trying to draw the viewers eyes onto the successful lines rather than that one line you made that was ever-so-slightly to thick on it.
