What an extraordinary achievement it is to take a song that tactless (if not downright idiotic) people sometimes refer to as "an old hat" and make it more vibrant and beautiful than ever before. What a stunning rendition!

Thanks for your comment. That was a great night of craic and good music. Actually, there is a patriotic background story to The Last Rose of Summer. Like most of Moore’s songs, this song is full of metaphors...and meaning.
