Hey.. My favorite Petra Album and my favorite Petra Song!! I saw them in concert and sing it.

Legendary Christian Rock group who recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary. They are truly an iconic band. They are also cross generational with two different lead singers and a very wide variety of both hard and soft rock with many different acoustic and electric arrangements. Very talented musicians. Much more talented and creative and fun to listen to than people might expect. Great lyrics that are always clear to hear. Early Petra had a phenomenal keyboard player and lead singer that could hit incredible high notes. All band members have always been exceptional. Most importantly they always incorporate the Christian message into every song which makes their music very personal to many believers of the Christian faith. God Bless PETRA. May their music live on forever.

@merlekeif4835 Thank you merlekeif. I do remember seeing some very early video of them performing in church with another singer. He must be the one. I am personally grateful to everyone who ever had a part in Petra. The techs, the road crew, the bus driver and all the musicians. I thank every one of them. Their music is that personal to me. Their music has carried me many miles in my lifetime. I am familiar with many other great Christian artists. Petra will always be one of those at the top of my list. God Bless PETRA.

@John-rw2zf You ain't even lying...I actually remember when I was on Facebook, Michael Sweet from Stryper asked who should they get to tour with them in Puerto Rico, and I suggested Petra, stating that if it hadn't been for Petra, there would have been no Stryper...next thing you know, Petra and Stryper are co-headlining in Puerto Rico, and at the end of the show, John Schlitt and Michael Sweet actually sing together

I was stoked when I got a notification about this reaction video! I grew up with Petra from around the time I was like 14 years old and they are one of my favorite bands! This is a great song! It's from one of the older albums where Greg X Voltz was the lead singer. Sometime later, John Schlitt came on the scene and became the new lead singer. The first time I heard Petra on the radio was when John was singing lead. John also released some solo albums in later years. I have the album "Unfit for Swine". I'm not sure how they came up with that title but it sounds like it's a reference to a person in their natural sinful state. It's a great album! There's one worship song on there called "We Worship You". I'm glad he did that song. It's a song of thanksgiving and exalting God for who he is. Beautiful song! If you want to check out some OG Christian Metal, check out pretty much anything by Stryper, they're the originators/Creators of Christian Metal. They're still gping strong 40 years later...the lead singer Michael Sweet just had surgery to remove Thyroid Cancer from his throat and sounds even better than ever...the guy can kill some high notes..they just released a new song called End of Days.

this album was my first introduction to Petra too, tho it was when it was newly released (still remembering getting Beat the System by Petra, Hotline by the band Whiteheart, and Soldiers under Command by Stryper).. if memory serves, this is the last album with their original singer, Greg X Volz.. he later left the band to work on a solo career, and was replaced by John Schlitt. their music has evolved thru the years.. at this point, they were somewhat a mix between 80's pop and hair band

The 80’s curse of electronic drums. But they sounded cool at the time. Bloodgood, “Crucify,” is sung from the perspective of Pilate. Check out the video where Les Carlsen sings in costume. It is very convincing.

Loved the reaction! Had to do a rendition of this song for my church's Easter performance and that made me go back and listen back to all the Petra classic. This song is defo one of my favs. You should react to more Theocracy, maybe Mirror of Souls. Top notch song. Fellow Malaysian here btw!

Thank you for reaction to my all-time favorite song from my all-time favorite band. The song is what led me to my fandom to the band. Also, Petra is a real place, it is an ancient city in current day Jordan (ancient Edom) that was built in a side of a mountain that provided much protection against invading armies.

You want a sing about Pilot you should check out Bloodgood song Curcify. Live version the lead singer acts a part of Pilot. On another note Petra is incredible with various styles as the years past. Check out more from Petra you will enjoy.

Bob Hartman, and whoever else writes the songs based all songs on Christian scriptures from the Bible, covering most all scriptures in someway, he went to summer school to learn about the Lord to write his songs when he became a question

They used to be my favorite band when I was 8 till around 20 years old it's sometimes very weird coming back listening to their stuff I'm not for their worship music I find I've always been more into John Schlitt or favor him as the singer in Petra this was When original singer Greg X Volz sang for them. You should hear Jekyll & Hyde by Petra or Test Of Time pretty raw ... Their song Matter Of Time on God Fixation was pretty decent. Overall they were my first influence... But they haven't been a favorite of mine for some time

Jaciinda Yes, he was pressured. They all turned against him except for the disciples of his mother and Mary Magdalene. Everybody turned against him most everybody anyway, so I’m more questions a lot worse and a lot changed their mind and got all confused.

CHRISTIAN METAL MONDAYS ARE BACK!!! This is a good song btw, a bit different from what I was expecting. It had a kinda 90s pop style that is pretty interesting. Those elements being so forward in the mix was surprising. It's super catchy too.

Some of the oldest stuff is heaviest. Check out songs like Backsliding Blues, Woman Don't you Know, Judas Kiss, Angel of Light, Bema Seat, and Pied Piper. All rockers from the early days!
