Wow - sorry to hear of your loss Pete, but life goes on mate! I lost 3 of my family just before the virus! Getting back to you - I recon you will be a TOP presenter! You informed us of your job/s journey/s without reading from a script, some MPs could/can't even do that! I thought I had done many job functions, but your journey in making a wage is mind boggling, as I work with my hands and still do at my old age, learning many new projects from You Tube! I have many films/footage of Scotland that I had walked/sailed and would love to show them on You Tube, but I do not have that Knowledge, or in how one can create an account! I wish you all the best in becoming a presenter, or maybe an MP! you have the gift of the gab as they say! You are on the right path and I wish you get what you deserve! Good Luck!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this video and so sorry to hear of the passing of your friend and work colleague. You really nailed it on this whole CoVID-19 thing its a bit surreal figures and charts every night that after a while fades into the background until it hits home. I also noticed how much I share in common having worked in Telecoms with BT for 10 years then moving into IT back to telecoms on the early VoIP stuff( back in IT), obviously like most guys love the cars and technology, I also enjoy cycling and as it happens my daughter is in her final year in Aeronautical/ Mechanical engineering at Uni. Anyway wanted to say how much I enjoyed and in respect of monetising the channel for what its worth I would subscribe and pay if more content was as informative, interesting or entertaining as your channel, keep it up 👍

good and interesting work background you shared Pete, as for virtual training, done a fair few IT courses through QA, and it works for me being in the highlands of Scotland and courses not always available in Scotland, and saves on travel/accommodation costs, 3 and 5 day classes and good platform with digital whiteboards, projector, and in-class mics, so we can all communicate. Can't recommend it enough. Last one was ITIL4 Foundation and class was in London, and 9 of us were remote over 3 days. i think it would be good for you to experiment with the virtual class format, more time not travelling, more time you get to spend with the family, YT, cars and TV work perhaps. Good luck with whatever you do 👍👍👍😎

I'm dreaming of changing my A4 for an S4 and just going through your vids, there great. I know how you feel about Alan as I too lost a friend to covid. When I first heard the news, it was a shock and you need to sit because you simply can't believe what you just heard. 18months on and you still miss the conversation/catch-ups/friendship. Really enjoyed today’s vlog as always. Great to hear more about you and your life. Good luck with the training course. I delivered a 5 day course on line 2 days after lockdown started. I’d only ever done it as face to face classroom based before so this was a massive learning curve for me. I found the concentration exhausting so I would recommend taking frequent breaks and I set my learners tasks they could do on their own which gave us all a bit of respite from staring intently at the screen. Having seen you here on KZbin, it’s obvious you’ll be brilliant. Let us know how you get on 👍

Great advice there PP - I spent 13 years in a role that gradually changed into something with no opportunity and that I didn’t want to do. With 2 kids it was a massive leap to give up a job that I knew inside out and move on to something new. I’m so glad I moved on and found something different!

Interesting vid. Interesting you work in the same industry, fixed and mobile telecoms, including Ericsson and all mobile network operators. Had several interesting roles, Major Incident Manager, Problem Manager, Core Network Ops, Lead Business Analyst and Senior Business Process Consultant. Also, held some training too. Went fully freelance 8 years ago, though I’d been freelance before. Agree you need specialise and ideally something you enjoy. I specialise in Business Analysis and Business Process Improvement. I like it as it never gets boring, always something to learn.

Fascinating story, from someone who has gone from farm labourer when I left school to university lecturer to now senior scientist for a corporate business (average time in any job 2years 8 months over 40 years) I can wholly identify with your advice that if you don’t enjoy it change. My son lives day to day earning money from many different sources much as you do and it’s really cool the way you can do this in the modern connected world.

@@PetrolPed Good idea. It took me a while to go for it, but I listened to my peers and they helped me gain confidence. Who knows how many would watch that would take that advice from you as well. 1st hand evidence tells a great story. All the emotions etc. Could be really good to hear for someone.

Superb video, love the background info and so sorry for your loss. Just found out, my photography instructor from the RAF, way back in 1985 has just lost his life, too, another great guy. Wow we have lead somewhat parallel lives 😄 offered job by Rolls Royce Aero / studied BEng Manufacturing at Hatfield Poly, played to my strengths and so finessed career choice and swapped to Business at Hertford campus.... considered TV media but eventually ended up in telecoms and have run my own teleco company for last 13 years. 🤓... and obviously LOVE cars and anything with oily bits 😝
