In this unique experiment to better peoples lives, three prisoners are chosen to raise dogs from behind bars and take them from needy puppies into service dogs for veterans. This documentary shows the power that animals have on human lives, and why they truly are our best friends.

This should be mandatory viewing for all to recognize the strain our veterans have suffered and continue to suffer when they return home. These prisoners showed strength and compassion; this is clearly a program that is not only helpful to them, it gives purpose. We should lol support these programs for the good they do to the community as a whole. Thank you all who participated in this program and others who do so without public recognition.

This program actually does help rehabilitate people whom are incarcerated IMO! They have these 🐕 24/7 & train them teaching them a skill that they can use outside of jail!

I think these programs are amazing. It gives them something to do and look forward to. And it gets the dogs socialized. Great work! Honestly if this could be in every prison that would be amazing. Then maybe extend it to shelter dogs as well in future.

I was balling my flipping eyes out!!! AAAAAAAAMEN! I just KNOW that those guys will CONTINUE their relationships with training with love for vets even now that some are out! The fellas that aren't out yet, will be! The vets were all VERY generous to allow this production to film them. The inmates, too! Thank you to ALL who went through and benefitted from the process.

This program is such a wonderful idea. To both help struggling veterans & offer people who have done wrong in the past an opportunity for growth, allow them to give back & give them a reason to feel pride, accomplishment & confidence is such a blessing all around. I'm so proud of each & every one who participated in this program. My prayers are all of you that you find peace & happiness in life. I hope more of these videos are shared. It's not only a feel-good video, but also shows the human side of people who have made mistakes & are trying to turn their lives around. I hope that many people who watch this will accept that people make mistakes, learn to forgive & also to give others a second chance.

I can not imagine why this documentary is not on national news: the most beautiful thing I can even imagine: a prisoner training a dog to help a vet with PTSD. It Does Not get BETTER than that?

😂 OMG gloria is a proper hard nut - those poor lads It's really wholesome to see that these lads have dreams and things to look forward to when they get out. Seems like as a society we failed them and they don't just blame everyone - very humbling to watch. I hope all of them do well and train those doggos for the people that need them it's a really important thing they are doing, great stuff

Such beauty, love, I cherish these opportunities, this brings hope to many in so many ways. My eyes couldnt stop the rain at the last ceremony, when these amazing dogs went to their forever homes, able to help deserving vets, thanks to these awesome men who loved and trained them. See monstly labradors, they are the most loving breed. These guys have been in there for quite a long time and a puppy will not just be given to any inmate.

War is just bad. It changes people. Dogs can help to ease the nightmare and trauma. If these guys dont want to participate, tough luck. They had the choice and failed the dog, if they dont want to bring their side then you must leave.

Do they get new puppy's once these ones leave. Do they follow up on the puppy's and the veterans to ensure that the pups are well looked after. It will break my heart to give my puppy up.

You don’t. These pups are bred from other well tempered and successful dogs. They are raised from day 1 in a compound and handled by trainers for their specific purpose. Other programs are available tho, not only for service dogs but simply just obedience and behavior improvement. Reach out to your local shelter or vet for more information. It’s never a bad time to start classes. Good luck!
