Staffies Rescued After Being Starved | Dog Rescuers | Pets & Vets

This week on The Dog Rescuers, a rescued Terrier is acting out at all the people who try and help him, and needs to learn to trust in humans if he is to ever be adopted. Two malnourished staffies are brought in to see if their being frail is down to food or something more serious.
Dogs are the nation's favorite pet, but seeing how they can be treated might make you think otherwise. Comedian Alan Davies takes us into the world of dog rescuers, where we follow the RSPCA officers who are tasked with investigating reports of cruelty and neglect when it comes to man's best friend.

The most interesting thing I’ve ever seen done by a kennel worker when attending a nervous and fearful dog: Big man brought in two bowls of food and set the dogs dish down without looking at the dog. He then slid down the wall, sitting with his own bowl of cereal, and began to eat. The dog seemed confused for a few minutes, and a couple of times he turned as if to run away. Then after assessing the situation one more time, it was kind of like “Well what the heck”, and he just walked on over and started to eat. When he was finished the man took both bowls and got up and headed for the door. The dog followed, the man reached down and ruffled his ears just before leaving, all without looking at him. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.

I always Liked Inspector Hershey. Thank GOD for the woman who alerted Hershey on these dogs. I hope she feels better. I love all The Dog Protectors. No way have these Staffies been fed or taken care of at all. I like Angelica also. Good at her job and compassionate. Love Andy Davies his voice is so soothing.

Vets should offer low income families a affordable vet plan. Its like saying you have to be rich to own a pet and alot of people on disability and on a fix income depend on a pet for companionship and or emotional support/service animal. They have human insurance that covers doctors why can't they offer that for pets. That cover all vet visits. More people would take there animals if it wasn't so costly.

I"ve had dogs all my life and have always regularly deflea-ed and de-wormed them. But I decided not use use any flea treatments (because of its toxicity) on my current two, now 11 and 13 years old, and they have never had fleas. I don't bath them as often as I did my other dogs but I deworm them regularly and pick up their faeces after every toilet round. I wash their bedding every week and make sure the house is as dust free as possible. I walk them very day, they socialise with other dogs and stay in Kennels when we go on holiday.

I'm from the USA and when the dogs get them scratchy itchy you know we use witch hazel olive oil and Murphy's oil equal parts same amount you wash them like three times a week and you go down to two times a week and you go down to once a week need to do it once a month or something guarantee it will stop them from scratching

The dog at about 14:00 minutes has had lumps on its body for about a year and their FINALLY taking it to the Vet??. Can anyone say "Animal Cruelty" charges are in order? I rightfully can.

Small lumps and bumps are completely normal in older dogs. They said that they had only recently started to get bigger which is why they brought her in.

The vet lady just confirmed that they did the right thing by monitoring closely and coming in when it changed. Yet here you are jumping to conclusions and demonizing owners. Thank God RSPCA officers have more sense than you.
