Hey everyone, it's Charlotte Dobre here, and today we're talking about petty breakups. You know the ones I'm talking about - the ones where someone breaks up with their significant other over something so small and insignificant that it's almost laughable.
Maybe it's because they left the toilet seat up, or they didn't text back fast enough, or they ate the last slice of pizza. Whatever the reason, these kinds of breakups are becoming more and more common, and I'm here to discuss why they're not only ridiculous but also harmful.
First of all, let's talk about how petty breakups can hurt both parties involved. Sure, breaking up over something small may seem like no big deal, but it can leave both people feeling hurt, confused, and rejected. And if the breakup was initiated over something as silly as not putting the cap back on the toothpaste, it can lead to feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt.
Not only that, but petty breakups can also be damaging to future relationships. If you're someone who constantly breaks up with your partners over insignificant things, you may have trouble maintaining a healthy and long-lasting relationship in the future. It's important to remember that relationships require compromise and understanding, and that means letting go of the little things.
So, if you're considering ending a relationship over something small, take a step back and think about the bigger picture. Is it really worth ending things over a dirty dish or a forgotten birthday? Instead, try to communicate with your partner and work through the issue together. Remember, relationships are about love, respect, and understanding - not about being perfect all the time.
Thanks for tuning in, everyone. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more relationship advice from yours truly, Charlotte Dobre.

Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

I caught my ex boyfriend cheating and about a week later, when we went to move my stuff (he wasn't there, THANK GOD!) his mom stopped by (like she did every Friday) with his weekly lasagne from Mommy. When she left, I filled that sucker with cayenne pepper and hot sauce and put it back in the fridge. I made sure to take every dairy product out of the fridge and the antacids! Ya see, Bubba couldn't handle even a pinch of spice without crying like a baby. He blew up my phone with texts and calls because he and his GIRLFRIEND had to run to the neighbor's for help. He threatened to call the police (so did his MOM!) and I responded with "What will they arrest me for? Assault by pasta?" then I blocked him! Spicy!!!!!

The whole "you know you won when they get into a relationship right after the breakup" is something only a snall percentage of ppl will actually understand... I broke up with my ex/baby daddy 6 years ago because we were both addicts & extremely toxic. The plan was to separate, get sober, get therapy & work on getting back together for my childs sake, but only one of us committed to that plan & followed through. He wasnt out from under my roof for a single week before entering a relationship with another woman & moving straight up under her roof with her & her children. So being the nice person i am, i messaged her on fb to warn her that he is an extremely toxic addict & to be careful. She instantly took it as jealousy on my end. Well long story short... she now has a child by him but they are no longer together due to him being a toxic addict & going through messy court proceedings while he provides ZERO support to their child & continues to spend every penny on his drug habit. She even messaged me back on fb telling me how much she wishes she had listened to my warnings & avoided a relationship with him. As for me... as of July 10th, i will be 6 years sober, 6 years celibate, completed 6 years of therapy (& still going) therefore have been ridded of all past "baggage", have full custody of both my kids & even completed training to start my career. The point is, i think if more ppl focused on bettering themselves INTERNALLY, rather than focusing on filling their emotional gaps by jumping from one relationship to the next or using substances to mask your issues, i think WE as a whole would be sooo much better off. The saying "you cant love someone else if you dont love youself" is the truest saying when it comes to modern day relationships.

Yeah, I never understood the bagged a cheater logic. If they’re willing to cheat on their partner with you, they’ll be willing to cheat on you with someone else. Stupid dumb. My ex and his gf ended up getting married. He was cheating on me with her, they even asked me to go to their wedding! I stayed far far away. Ofc after laughing hysterically and hanging up. But I talked to her a few years later and she admitted he hasn’t been loyal to her and she doesn’t know what to do etc etc. I heard her out, after all. It isn’t her fault he was cheating. It’s his. I told her she deserved better and to divorce his sorry nasty ass. She never did tho. They’re still together. 🤷‍♀️

@@erikarussell1142 I don't know how many women my ex has been through, or even care. When he left me, he moved in with his side chick, but as soon as our divorce was final, he dumped her and married a new victim; wife #5. That lasted less than a year, so I'm sure he's got #6 lined up by now. He reminds me of that Crystal Gayle song from back in the 1970s: "Why have you left the one you left me for? Ugh, i have a similar story. My ex has a pretty close circle friends made up of guys and girls. They all went to university together. When I met them they were all so so nice and welcoming to me. I thought they were all cool and we got along really well. I even hung out with them on occassion without my boyfriend making me think we were becoming real friends. He cheated on me the whole 2 years we were together with 2 of the girls in that group. Everyone knew. Yet no one said anything. Turns out it wasnt just them and he had a few flings with some of his co-workers too who I also met multiple times at events. 5 years later, he's still alone though, going from woman to woman. I'm married to a fantastic man, and overall just good human being, and happiest I've ever been!

I broke up with a guy and he would not leave. For months I kept telling him I was moving and he needed to pack up and go. Moving day arrives ( here's my petty part of the story) and he hasn't packed anything. I rent a Uhaul and pack up our stuff. Mark all the boxes that are mine and separated them from his. So we get in the truck, him thinking he was going with me, and I drove 20 miles to drop him off at his mom's house. As soon as I parked, I started unloading his boxes while he's crying like a baby. His mom is yelling and cussing me, which I pay no mind to, and I just keep doing with what I'm doing. When I was done I calmly tell him " catch ya on the flip flop tater tot" and drove off into the night. Never looked back 😂

This is about a step-Mom. My mother had a brain tumor. My Father, brother and myself went through hell. She wasn't just physically ill. She hated us after the brain tumor. She tried to kill father many times. I didn't ever see my father lose patience with my mother. Not as much as a heavy sigh. A few months after my mothers death. My father met a wonderful woman. He told my brother and myself he was going to ask her to marry but out of respect for our mother. He was going to wait a year. Knowing our father lost his wife long before she died. We packed our dollies and dishes and moved in with the woman. Just showed up at her door with suitcases in hand. Dad would never live with someone and not be married and would not just let her raise his kids. Problem solved. They got married because his kids gave him no choice. My father truly deserved happiness. We were not willing for him to wait.

So it would melt and he would think something was wrong with his car and keep taking it in the shop (he didn’t know crap about cars and took it to a shady mechanic anyways who always bled him dry.) long story short, he ended up “having” to buy a new car. I then went and bought his old car and cleaned it up and drive it. Sucks to suck.

So my ex broke up with me in January and told me that we can still be friends and get back together later if I was good. He broke up with me because ‘We don’t get along.’ We fought once and he was like yeah no and it was mostly a disagreement. Me being absolutely pathetic with relationships was like I don’t wanna lose him I love him so I agreed. He would ignore me and not hang out with me even though we were ‘friends’ now. I was always there when something happened to him and he needed me even if I was at work but he couldn’t do the same. When I’d ask why or get upset he told me I was overreacting and need to calm down. It wasn’t until I actually started talking to someone about this (I never before because my relationship is my relationship and I don’t need others getting in it too) that I realized that he was stringing me along. So in march I finally dug up the courage and called off all contact with him. I deleted all photos and anything that tied me to him. Blocked everything. Cried my eyes out one last time (literally was crying everyday for last couple months before that.) and now I’m just doing my best. I now realize I don’t need someone who doesn’t appreciate me and can’t give me the same effort I give them. I can’t hold on to someone who isn’t interested. I wish I was petty in breakups to do something mean but I’m not. I just cry and stand back up. 😂

You sound like you're both mature adults, and sadly, that's rare. I'm sure you're tired of people saying, "Why didn't you just stay together?" Thing is, sometimes both parties are lovely, kind people but they just aren't a match. I had a boyfriend when I was 18-19 who is probably the finest human being I've ever known. 40+ years later, we are still friends on Facebook and I'm very happy that his wife is a wonderful, smart, funny lady who loves him the way he deserves to be loved. They have FIVE sons who are their world, and their love gets stronger with time. Having 5 kids sounds like hell to me, so she's a far better person than I could ever be. I love how they met. When I was 25, my fiance threw a surprise birthday party for me, and he invited Bill (this sweet ex-boyfriend) because I'd mentioned that I didn't treat him kindly and I would like to have a chance to apologize. Bill came to my party, we had a good chat and I hugged him before he left to drive home. He got in a minor accident on the way home, a pretty girl hit him from behind while he was waiting at a red light. She was so embarrassed, but she made a series of funny one-liners until he was cracking up, so he asked her if she'd like to go have a drink. Yep, they've been married more than 35 years now. 💘

My first bf broke up with me on my 17th bday because he thought he could "do better." ...we were each other's first for everything....so I was devastated!!! Later down the road, about 2-3 years, I was desperate and wanted him back. so I went looking for him at his parents house only to meet his brother..... We were together for 6 years and had a baby ....who is now 17 and beautiful ❤️ He's been single since and can't get a girl... I say ..... Karma for the win.

Damn my first break up was 10 days after my 16th birthday like I had just gotten back from a birthday trip, and I was sitting on my floor trying to catch up on homework I missed and I got a text message from a friend who I wasn't even close with show screenshots of my bf (who was 15) trying to sell him vapes and stuff this was 6 months after he'd told me he'd stop vaping and like 4 months after he had randomly messaged me one day saying "I really wanna get high rn" and then "Don't worry I won't cause I promised you I'd wouldn't do anything like that again and I'd never go back on a promise especially one I made to you" I then found out a bunch of other people knew and his mom had caught him and punished him and even told me he was in trouble but told me he was in trouble because of his grades. Eventually we were friends again and I found out he tried to tell a little girl I was friends with that I talked shit about her behind her back, through parent investigation we found out what happened... I happened to know I was one of the only people he really opened up to and talked to all the time, but lately he'd been snapping at me and just super moody so this was the last straw, I stopped texting him told him never to talk to me again and when my cousin said he was talking about me at school, I let it slip during youth group (some of his classmates he's known since kindergarten were in my youth group) that my ex had started spreading rumors about me... I also told a few of our mutual friends (not to be petty because I needed support but) I know they are upset with him for me and will stop him from talking to me or ever even trying to get to me

I was dating a girl when I was 19. It was one of those on again off again relationships. The last time she broke up with me with a note. Then took the note back. Within a month she was with someone. Not sure if they're still together as I've lost touch with them. Anyways, I got in a state afterwards and focused on my self. Until I found out that her best friend was moving to my city a couple years later. I thought she was cute. So we started dating. We have 2 wonderful boys together. And we have our 11th year anniversary next month. The best revenge is to live your life.

The most petty thing I've ever done is with my ex. We were together for like 4 months or something. He broke up with me because my dad had made a joke about having a lawyer in the family or something. He freaked out, took it out of me, and broke up with me. I was like okay sure. Are you sure you want to do that? This is stupid fine. Live your best life. About a year later he came back to me and started talking to me and that's when the idea clicked. I started dating him again about 4 months later I broke up with him. I meet his family, children, friends, and did everything right. Just so I can do the exact same thing to him that he did to me. It felt wonderful.

Dated a guy several years ago. After about two months, things went like this. Monday: *him* oh I love you, you are my universe..blah blah blah. Tuesday, I don't hear from him at all and get a little worried. Wednesday I text him asking if he is OK. He says he needs space. Thursday he puts on Facebook that he is in a new relationship. Tore me up. They only lasted about 6 weeks though. 7 years later and he still texts every now and then to see how I am. I love replying "oh,, my boyfriend of 3 years and I are doing fabulous!"😂

I later found out he went on a date with another girl, but it didn't work out so he came running back to me after a couple weeks. But I said no, I'm not going to be anyone's second choice! The first part happened to me; but the guy didn't contact me until 13 years later. What I found out was the girl he left me for only lasted a week. Then a couple months later he married someone else but it was a miserable, sexless marriage which he was still in but wanted to secure something with me first before he divorced her. So I led him on for a couple weeks and then just blocked him out of the blue. Haha.

I think that is the reason why she was trying so hard to get back in the house was because she was trying to retrieve the money, but she was DENIED! The phone call is funny. My friend was dating this guy who ended up being married. He told her that he was divorced. We were at the court house helping a friend with her DV filing and my friend decided to look up the Divorce Decree (It's a public record) and we couldn't find it. So we decided to stake out his house. We see him fixing his truck and all of a sudden another car parks in the driveway and who gets out?! THE WIFE (whom we thought was the Ex-Wife). Making out in the driveway and then he flings her over his shoulder smacking her ass running towards the house as she giggles with delight. SOB was never divorced, so my friend went through her security camera feed and grabbed pictures of him at her house being naked in her hot tub, parking his Truck outside her house all sorts of pictures. She turned the pics into post cards and sent one to his Barber, his mother, and his wife. She also stuck some in some taco shops put them on random windshields and also scattered some near his job...the local Police Station.

The ending got me. Getting a divorced the husband refused to move out (he left after our oldest said they couldn't take it anymore). He was telling how he wanted house, etc., etc. I was soooo mad I got up and as I was leaving the room so it didn't become a fight I said... this would be easier if you would just die. I couldn't believe I said it. Like my filter was turned off, and I just blurted it out. I felt horrible... yet I never told him otherwise. Now that it's been a couple of months without him here, I'm realizing (with a therapist) that he is a controlling narcissist, and I can't believe how stupid I was. Working on finding myself. And forgiving myself. But this would be so much easier if he ... you know. 😉🤣🤣

I'm thinking that the reason she didn't remove the cash from the house was because she thought she would be awarded the house and kids. When my ex left me and moved in with his skank, I encouraged him to come get anything of his he still wanted, but he insisted he wouldn't need to since he would end up owning the ranch anyway, and I'd be homeless. He thought at the very least, I'd be forced to sell it and split the proceeds with him. I was really expecting that I'd have to sell it too, even though I had a lot more invested financially (and spiritually) than he did. I even got a real estate agent and the house was on the market for about a week before the judge instructed our attorneys, "Hol up on that, new evidence. The emails he was sending me had crossed the line from bullying to terroristic threats so those nastygrams became admissible even though our state is a "one party", meaning that I can't share recordings or emails without his consent... unless they are criminal threats. I'm not petty enough to throw away some of his stuff, but don't know what to do with it either. I keep hoping I'll run into his granddaughter again so I can give it all to her. We were close and I'll always love her. He left behind his awards from Disneyland for decades of employment that are pretty cool; bronze Tinkerbell, Cinderella castle, etc. They go for a few hundred bucks each on eBay, but I wouldn't feel right selling them, but I never want to see him again either.

Short story: I can relate very much to the first story except my sister and I weren’t really able to get revenge, they got married fast and he adopted her kids right after so they couldn’t exactly break up; she was a gaslighter, manipulator, liar, etc. she was awful, and she was the mistress. I think the petty thing we did was after not being able to see our dad for two years because of her; I ended up planning a graduation party when I graduated, on the weekend they couldn’t come and sent them an invite anyways: his family came though and so they knew he didn’t show up, and this year my sister had a quince and we only invited him, she wasn’t allowed. When she found out she wasn’t invited, she literally called my mom (from my dads phone so she would answer cuz she was blocked) and threw a tantrum. He ended up coming and staying through the whole thing, but since then we haven’t really heard from him so I guess she grounded him or something 🤷‍♀️ we are giving him a thank you card though, so he can take it home. Wasn’t sure if I wanted to go the extra mile and mail it to their address or just give it to him🤷‍♀️💀 2:33

It was so detailed and real that I believed and started sobbing because I "wasn't ready to be a rat mom" and was genuinely concerned that I wouldn't be home to receive it! Straight up sobbing. Last week my bf told me out of no where that he had been cheating on me with someone for the entire duration of our relationship (6 and a half years). This weekend has been mayhem trying to move back into my dads and I have 2 weeks left in this semester so I’m struggling physically and emotionally rn… no pettiness just massive heartache (also I was on my period) 6:58

14:34 reminded me of my ex. We dated for 4 years. We’re talking about getting married and save for a house. Two weeks later completely out of nowhere he dumps me. I was blindsided. He swore he wasn’t cheating just didn’t want to be together anymore. Heartbroken I move out to my dads house. We were still friends on FB because I was hopeful that we would get back together since it seemed so sudden and I trusted that he didn’t cheat. But not even a week later after the break up I see a post from him and a picture of him and a girl in his bed with him “there’s nothing like waking up next to a beautiful woman”. I was furious and I felt my heart sink. It was awful feeling and it felt like he did that just to hurt me because he knew I’d see it… after I calmed down a bit I realized that was a girl from his work… the pieces for together and it clicked he was lying and was cheating on me. His Late nights at work made so much more sense after that. And nobody just jumps into a new relationship less than a week after breaking up with someone unless they were cheating or borderline cheating. I blocked him and never spoke to him ever again. I heard from a mutual friend they got married a few months later and divorce just about as quickly lol. That was so satisfying to hear. I’m married now too but I’ve been with my husband for 9yrs before we tied the knot. Our first anniversary is next month 😊

I know someone whose ex was from another country. When they broke up, he inadvertently left his birth certificate and passport (from that other country) in her desk at her home. A few months later, he called her desperate for those original documents because he needed them to travel for his work. She pretended to search her desk while they were on the phone, but the truth was that she put the docs through the shredder the moment she found them. All along she insisted that he must have them "somewhere" because they weren't at her place.

I think I'd have just said, "Oh here they are," turned on the shredder and shredded junk mail. Just make him sweat and force him to pay the crazy fees they charge for rush orders of replacements. Then you can mail them to him while he's away and leave a note, "Now worthless, just like you."

This is my proudest moment and I don’t want to hear anything about it: When I finished college I moved back to my home town. I was staying with my mom and her boyfriend while I found a place of my own. They had a three bedroom apartment for just them two so everyone had their space. I worked all day as a teacher and went home. My end of the deal was that I cleaned and did everyone’s laundry on fridays (folded and put away too) and I paid the electric bill. Overall great deal for how expensive rent was in the city and would give me time to save up! I even cooked for my mom and her bf a couple times because they liked how healthy I was eating and wanted to try it out. It was chill but then my moms bf started saying I should clean an additional day of the week. I said I was working long hours and had my students homework’s to grade at home but that I would start cleaning the kitchen every night since that was the “problem” area. He wasn’t happy with this but my mom agreed there’s not much else I could do because I was almost never home. I used to stay at my bfs every weekend. He didn’t like that I had a bf that picked me up on the weekends because he thought that was “disrespectful” to his home since I wasn’t even engaged…but my mom said I was 22 and an adult he can’t tell me I can’t date 😅 anyways one day said bf came to pick me up for the beach but I wasn’t ready so I told him to wait in the kitchen, he asked if he could have a juice and I said yes. That night I came home to a convo from my mom saying her bf had had enough of my “disrespect” for allowing someone to drink the last of the juice. She kicked me out that day!!! I packed all my stuff and left but not before taking HIS FAVORITE BOWL!! It was the only one like it in the house and he loved it so much!! My mom said he looked for it forever and blamed me but she thought that was so ridiculous but I did do it to be petty! Years later she did apologize and my mom now lives in my home after breaking up with him

🤣🤣🤣 when the husband ended up with a GF, I ripped up our marriage certificate! Told him there will be no divorce, I own half of everything and we’re not married now! 😂😂😂😂 now, neither of us beloved in divorce, and me and the kids spent a lot of time at our place in Florida…the GF last a short time. I just lost him (passed) on our 38th wedding anniversary. But that birth certificate reminded me of that!

6:24 as funny as it is to outsiders, as someone who knows someone who had to go through something similar, its not funny AT ALL… Basically, my bffs legal mother (they disowned her and are no longer in contact but ill still call her their mother, ik ur seeing this so sorry bestie) is a studio teacher, basically they teach child actors while theyre on set so they dont miss school. Anyway, their mom was working with a celeb named Hayes Grier, and he didnt want to do his school work, so when my bffs mom left the room, he got her phone numbers, logged onto twitter, and posted them basically saying they were his phone numbers and to call him. For YEARS people were calling thinking they were calling Hayes. My bff ended up passing out multiple times in school because of the amount of calls coming in. Like, i remember one day, we were all just standing in line, and then all of a sudden i see my bff fall over and nobody csn wake them up. Their parents were called and took them home. It was really sad actually. Edit: idk if it was twitter or instagram, it was some social media.
