French cars are often underestimated. Fun fact: the only car that seriously worried Mercedes-Benz was the Peugeot 604 back in the 70s. Cost about as much as a W123 but rivalled the S-Class in most important areas. Never really took off though.

Lukáš Duběda I had several French car and 2 old Peugeot (205 and 306)?are among the most reliable I ever owned. My dad also had a 504 and 505 in my childhood and these were bulletproof.

Great review , no other car reviewer cares so much about the driving dynamics. By the way, Peugeot has improved a lot recently, the 3008 is quite popular, drove a 3008 test car last week ( as the C5 aircross , the 3008 is way better, it has a much better suspension) and I was very pleased. I’m looking seriously into this 3008 to replace my old faithfull Tiguan . Thanks 👍

I think the c5 prioritizes comfort a lot more, so whether it is a lot worse probably depends on the person, though I do prefer the 3008.

3008 is clearly a good choice, but he C5 ac is slightly cheaper and offers more modularity for a family ... reliability should be the exact same though

Thanks for clarifying that the 4WD is actually via a separate rear wheel only electric engine. Quite different I think from most PHEV which are using a single electric motor & a transmission tunnel.

I cant stop stressing out how the quality of your videos is superior to that with much more views/subscribers. For me it's not the quantity but the quality that counts! Keep it up guys, you are almost at 500k mark! Concerning the car: I appreciate peugeot is making attempts to electrify/hybridise their line-up, but...it's still a peugeot, you can tell by the ride quality and the build quality overall are very poor. I have tested few peugeots myself, a while ago. 308 and 508, I was quite dissapointed to be honest, because the price tag is almost the same as some premium brands.

Alexander Grzx when you close the front drivers door of the new Peugeot 2008 you can literally feel the whole rear body part shaking and moving. Feels very flimsy

Have you tried a 3008? It is really nice vehicle, I’m sure not mercedes level of luxury, not toyota quality, but a really, well done car. I have a 3008 GT, good ride quality, god interior quality, really good car. If the cars on the same segment is the one that feels modern and well done, all the others are playing catch up.

I like the exclusive hybrid's brighter interior. But pricey. Typical Thomas calm EV drive demonstration - great. Glad it sticks in EV mode. 30:15, with reserved electric zones in cities and a PHEV, how do the authorities know you're in EV, not using the engine! 38:50, for some people a PHEV is "the first step towards" electric - but UK government have announced new hybrids to be banned from 2035, only 15 years, so this might discourage some customers! Curious. Whereas all new cars in Europe may soon be hybrid to get around manufacturer's fleet CO2 fines, and WLTP etc! Though soon all components, electronics and rare-earth materials will dry up as China has closed down... Great Review Thomas and Jonas.

Interesting remarks on the lack of efficiency on hybrid mode which seems common on plugin hybrids (Volvo...). These cars seems to have to be used like pure electric cars to be worth the price... For me, hybrids are 100% of times efficient (5,0 l/100 on my 2002 Prius...) and on real life less expensive to use if you use mostly the engine. Btw I did’nt find your test of Lexus ES and LS. Maybe soon ?

So if you run mostly all electric between home and work and then say we have winter, the combustion engine is all cold all the fluids inclusive and it suddenly has to start when you get on the motorway what's the most likely scenario in case of this car?

PHEV is so last decade... Time for BEV. Sportier feeling would be easier to evaluate if the central screen was hidden (so you don''t get biased seeing which motor/engine is active)

Reliability actually varies from place to place, you know. Just because a car is unreliable in America for some reason does not mean that is the same case elsewhere. There is no definitive reliability answer. Also, reliability may be hard to determine on a new car. You just have to wait.

Peugeot rating is average, or just above average. not as good as most japaneses, better than many European brands.

bilykun French cars have moved on a long way since the old days. I had old Peugeot cars which were a nightmare but in 2015 I purchased the 308 GT which was perfect and then upgraded to the 3008 GT line. Since the new designer took over they have massively upped their game.

Or you can get a reasonably priced petrol car + 200,000 km worth of petrol. Also less parts to repair, so cheaper maintenance. PSA hybrids are crazy overpriced, its like they don't want them to actually sell and are made only for compliance.
