Thanks for this. I’ve learned a lot! The rental company knew nothing about the car and didnt Include the cable. Even the Peugeot dealer couldn’t explain all things to me (specially the B mode!), tho I was in rural France and don’t speak a lick of French.

Good review but can I correct a couple of points as I’ve had the Hybrid4 version for six months. The paddles only change gear when the ICE is running and have no effect on the level of regen which is fixed at one level. The MPG you showed and quoted is purely that of the ICE (the electric only consumption was above in miles/KWh) and NOT the combined hybrid figure. This can be viewed in the i-Cockpit when you press the end of the right hand stalk. Lastly, you can use B mode for one pedal driving but it’s actually better to stay in D mode and coast as much as possible as this is far more efficient. Then only use B mode when you really need to slow the car. Again, thanks for the great review of a brilliant car.

Ah excellent, we need this kind of feedback as for the systems there’s very little depth on KZbin etc - thank you David

Another great review. You have shown what great consumption you can get when you regularly charge the battery. I always plug my PHEV Ioniq in after each journey. Some thoughts are that PHEV batteries will suffer from being regularly depleted and fully charged, I disagree with that because it has a buffer each end and when hard acceleration is called on the engine kicks in and takes the strain from the battery therefore the battery doesn't get too stressed. After 3 years I'm still showing 100% on my battery. We will inevitably all go electric in the future but I think this vehicle is a great way to ease yourself into full ev and not having to worry about the charging infrastructure which is not there yet, but they are making head roads into country wide reliable coverage.
@PlanetautoUK3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Keith, it’s remarkable how much the battery increases economy in a PHEV. That’s interesting to hear, you’d think there’d be some degradation in a year let alone 3, around here there’s quite an infrastructure for charging.
@keithware53143 жыл бұрын
@@PlanetautoUK That is encouraging to hear the infrastructure is good around there. What I forgot to mention is the majority of PHEVs can't be rapid charged which apparently is also a contributor to degradation.

Great review. Just a note and a question, on the rt side of the icockpit, you'll see the battery indicator. What should you do if you ran out of battery power? Should you stay on hybrid mode or shift to sport mode? I don't think the recharge is not enough specifically if your doing a long drive.

Hi, I love your video, very informative and I trust you as you both are the real users. May I ask you two questions? they all exaggerate about their mpg or electric range. 1/. Do you actually test or know about the real/genuine electric range? 2/. I mainly do school run/clubs and errands around town. Is it wise to have PHEV instead of self-charging hybrid e.g. Rav4 or Lexus? FYI, I do long journey probably 1 or twice a month (about 75miles one way journey). I am currently a Peugeot 3008 petrol user, going to upgrade a next level SUV as PHEV or just Hybrid. Now it just narrow down to Rav4 hybrid or Rav4 PHEV or Peugeot 3008 PHEV. Thank you for your help. Kitty

Hi Kitty, glad you like what we do! To answer your questions, we only show the mpg or range that we experience in the vehicle. If we mention it, it's because it's what's been recorded during our review (so it''s all our own experience, if that makes sense!) In terms of the RAV4, we've not had one on review yet, but hope to soon. We are looking forward to being able to compare the two. Hope this helps. *A

Sorry if you answered this in the review and I missed it. On average, how many miles do you get on a) a full electric charge and b) a hybrid mode? Also, on average how much money do you think you'd save getting this over a purely petrol model per month if using on average 1/3 tank fuel a week at £60 per tank

Tell you what is a downer and has been since introduced since say 2017 is for the more ( my favourite) gt ish versions is the BLACK DRK ROOF LINING , bad. Especially in dark days and nights , about 8 months a year. Another beef i have is the RIDICULOUS MPG NUMBERS the manufacturers give for a hybrid . This model fully charged and a gallon of petrol will give on average 65 to 70 mpg .So thats about £8.to £9.00 petrol and elec for 65/70 miles a pop , NO CHANCE OF 250 MPG COMBINED , LOL😅 Ps. your in the lesser loaded allure design I believe. Please please explain how you got 155 mpg combined ??

I’ve done a couple of 200 mile trips in my Hybrid4 version and returned just under 80mpg, starting with a full battery. Better than any diesel I’ve ever owned. But if I keep it charged and only do local journeys, I use absolutely no fuel at all provided I stay within the 35+ mile range.
