Take a really big selling crossover, stick hybrid technology into it with a fully electric range of nearly 60kms and you get the Peugeot 3008 PHEV. This example is fairly special though as it gets power to both axles and 300bhp in total when you're in hybrid mode.

Great review, yep its on my " Lotto " list, I'd need to win to buy. Had a 3008 for 5 years, bullet proof and comfortable car for daily commute from midlands to Dublin. Due a change soon.....

Think this is the best review yet, Nobby! You’ve just proven what I thought about the 3008 hybrid. It’s really not worth it. I’ve been running one now over three years, in GTLine spec with grip control. I’m getting that economy from a Diesel engine. Sure, it won’t set the world on fire performance wise, but it’s not the worst.

Mark, Does the battery pack have much of an impact on the luggage space, ie can the parcel shelf still stow under the floor etc ?

In sweden you get about 3000-4000 euros back from the state for buying a hybrid. If that was the case for ireland would that change hour opinion? We just ordered one for 430k euro minus the state’s support. It’s not a bargin but less than the prices you list.

You can get up to 10k back here on full EVs and 0% BIK on vehicles up to €50,000 and on hybrids there's money to be saved too but we have another tax called VRT (basically a double tax) and that really doesn't help.

It costs some money, indeed, but still it could be an alternative, over 15k cheaper than the DS7 e-tense., for those who want that hybrid system and even if DS7 is more premium, maybe even luxurious, this one is still very chic.

True, still a lovely place to sit too with those optional leather seats etc but the price is just hard to forget.

Nice review. I have the 2017 3008 GT line model and love it but can’t really justify upgrading to this version as you’re not getting much more for your money apart from the electric motors and if I did upgrade to this I wouldn’t have that wow feeling of having a new car when sitting inside.

Don’t get me wrong you can never have enough power but if I trade mine in next year and then get in the hybrid4 I wouldn’t feel like I was getting into something special. The Peugeot 508 SW PSE well that’s another story but couldn’t justify spending 54 grand on one. Loving the channel. Have a great weekend 👍🏻

Just bought the 225 Hybrid. Crappy 22 klms from full to empty on electric (no lead boots involved). Is that your experience with Hybrids quoting 60ish klms. I know the WLPT figures are fantasy but losing nearly 70% on a brand new battery !!!!!!!!!

@@NobbyOnCars Yes pure ev. Was expecting mid 40's alright, but 20 odd is taking the preverbial. Same again today and that's driving gentle with a decent amount of regen. braking etc. Half thinking of looking for my money back, lovely car but charging twice a day is surely going to ruin the battery.

@@NobbyOnCars No, all suburban. Never see more than 32 klms on the range est. in the car, which has translated to 22 actual klms. Wasn't expecting quite that low. As far as I can see the Niro gets more from a smaller battery.

@@Flipper-fe9qu Hi ! For what you are looking for, why did you know by a BEV vehicle. Majority of people work place is doable, as in say the RAV4 Prime PHEV. Unsure what country you live in ? I think this vehicle is very nice indeed. And I mean after you exhaust the BEV mode, then you are driving in HEV mode. Seems a waste of time charging the battery twice a day. Regards. Auckland. NZ

We have a 1.2l petrol auto and love it, refined, 50mpg on a long run. Adding half a ton of batteries for almost no benefit in fuel consumption is not progress by any sensible measure

Podge I dropped in both versions to try keep everyone happy! I’ve a fair few views coming from the UK now too which is great but I can’t be dealing with the comments about how to say the bloody name 😂
