While you still have the sump plug out put a cup full of fresh oil in , it’ll wash out the shit at the bottom

I just run a litre of heating oil down through them much cheaper than liquid gold.

Thanks for the video, I was put off doing it myself as I hate working on my van and was told it's a pain but it was one of the easiest I've done. Plus I took it to a garage last time and I'm certain they charged me and didn't do it as the airbox was never opened up

What about a new copper washer on the sump plug and try locating the oil filter spigot and filter in the engine then put the cover. You cannot be sure it is located properly. The battery terminal was very near the socket wrench tool, either battery terminal needs to be taken off or the original cover put on the battery terminal. Previous van the diesel filter is next to the battery.

Correct oil filter fitted in the engine then screw the oil filter cap on , sometimes a pain but correct way
