I guess I don’t understand, if one REVIEWS a product, basically a “How To” review, it only seems logical that one follows the MANUFACTURERS directions to the “T”, simple enough. This video should be titled, “ How NOT to use” the Hornady Sonic-Cleaner. Ultimate FAIL.

Read and understand all the instructions in the basic user manual before attempting to use a machine for the first time is a good idea.

It's not very clear I have read mine which is more of a pamphlet. It really is not clear you obviously don't have one or have a model with a comprehensive manual.

A lot of inconsistencies in the demo, including no change in the color of the water after cleaning. Parts look oddly the same after you removed them as when you put them in. Just saying

Definitely try Purple Power Cleaner. I’ve heard from several people that is the magic potion to put in the ultrasonic cleaners!!

I noticed it removed markings on your front sight. Have you got this figured out yet and has it worked really well? I'm searching for one now, and this is the 2nd video that I've watched. I don't have a clue what brand to even look at seriously, yet. Looks like Hornady and Lyman are on top, but don't know for sure yet.

How often had you cleaned your gun before you purchased the sonic cleaner? Looks like expensive gun parts, don't give up till you find the right cleaner.
@Silverhaze786 жыл бұрын
your supposed to degas before you put the parts in for like 10 minutes or until it gets nice and hot. then you drop your parts in and just clean on normal mode.

Unrelated but, what’s up with those Pyrex Measuring Cups? I have yet found one that will pour its contents without spilling all over the place. I use a garden chemical measuring cup as they don’t spill everywhere.

I have the same model ultrasonic cleaner and I can fit a completely disassembled XDs 9 into the basket. I wished I bought one with a larger tank so that I could get a stripped down 1911 into the cleaner without crowding the parts. I may buy a larger one. Anyway I always use the ultrasonic cleaner after a trip to the range. Always. The ultrasonic cleaner will NOT remove copper or lead fouling from a barrel. You'll have to use the right solvent to remove the fouling then put the parts into the ultrasonic cleaner.
@americansoldier77764 жыл бұрын
Joey, if you listen to me your ultrasonic cleaner will work amazing. Because I just bought one from Harbor freight. Put as hot tap water as you can inside of it. Go out and buy simple green cleaner the purple one that’s HD. Put it in your cleaner for about 10 minutes and it’ll come out squeaky clean guarantee it!!!
@JS-qi1ou3 жыл бұрын
@Aaron Vangilder you most certainly need to dilute your solution, he says he uses hot tap water. If you just filled the entire tub with 100% cleaning solution you would almost certainly take the finish off of anything. I guess you could clean stainless steel parts like that but you definitely need to dilute it for anything you care about.

Why didn't you heat up the distilled water before pouring it in? NO, not boiling. What do the specs say?

Not sure what you did... but within the first 10!seconds that water should be a few shades darker with carbon/old oils it’s pulled off... I didn’t hear it actually run either...? So, maybe a follow up video lol

Mine works like a champ .. especially on silencer parts, I think you didn’t use the de gas right and also looks like you hadn’t cleaned that barrel in a very long time, if you cleaned that barrel after every 500 rounds or so it would have been spotless after 2 minutes in the ultra sonic

The Harbor Freight el cheapo works like a mofo... add water and a few sprays of simple green... sh!t comes out spotless. Tank size is very important. The tank needs to be big enough, depending on how crowded, to allow the ultrasonic waves to propagate. The Harbor Freight is a 2.5L and works well.

i have to agree that i dont think he did this right, if he did used this machine at all. the water did not show any sign of being used, he never showed the unit in action, and he actually cut the shot when he said he was going to turn it on. its like he almost faked the whole thing. not aying he did, but i am having a hard time beleiving his results after seeing so many other videos. anyways, just my 2 cents, you guys can think what you like.

Just a thought here. You might want to try using the brass one-shot cleaner. The cleaner you used was for steel & plastic parts. The parts you are cleaning are brass, so perhaps using the one-shot cleaner for brass will yield better results.

Why are you even trying to clean those parts of the NOC? It doesnt need to be spotless, doesnt even need to be close. If you want a gun to stay shiny and clean buy another noc for looks. Theyre tools man.
@JoeyBullseye7 жыл бұрын
Chris Farrar I agree. However, I was trying to demonstrate the effectiveness of the ultrasonic cleaner for the purpose of the review. That being said, any carbon buildup on your firearm which is not self limiting will get worse and worse over time. You should ALWAYS try to clean these areas as best as you can, especially if you are shooting as frequently as I am. (500-1,000 rounds per week)
@nategaudette42284 жыл бұрын
@@JoeyBullseye you should also try and read the directions that came with the ultrasonic, u de gassed it, u actually need to run it..?
