So believe it or not, those EXACT spring knives you looked at got me arrested. I ordered one thinking it was a plastic replica. It was like $9 or something got it shipped to my home in London. And I got a letter saying that it had been taken away by borderforce or something. So I ignored it as it said ' If you need it, you can come collect it' which sounds like a trap. About 4 weeks later 2 undercover police knock on the door and search my home thinking I'm running some whole operation. Got arrested. Got questioned , got de-arrested. Life goes on. RIP $9

There’s actually a pretty big market for those lightsabers. If you’re willing to spends about 150 bucks (or more, but the cheaper versions will pretty much do the same thing as the expensive ones) on a so called Neopixel or Xenopixel saber, you’ll have an actually movie accurate lightsaber

To be fair, I have a lightsaber and I did spend a lot of time poking around looking for grip tapes which in the end, I spend 10 pounds on. If you are really doing tricks and spins with the lightsaber, it would hurt quite a bit without the grip tape, so I'm actually pretty surprised the supplier is caring enough to give grip tape with it, although it's probably shit and not shock absorbing at all, but hey, at least you don't get scratches from it.
