LOL yep. It's one of the things that most viewers don't see most of the time. I like to throw a little reality in sometimes. Thanks Nick. I'll keep on keeping on. Blazer is in the shop. Put a new fuel pump in this morning and the brand new pump leaks. So it's back in there again. Geeesh.

I have had good luck with heating and bending pex with a tubing bender made for electrical conduit it takes more tubing but you only have fittings on each end of the line unless you have to use a union to add more tubing also I never trust those crimp fittings you have the right idea using compression fittings good job

I put an 90 degree elbow on my city water inlet which solves the challenge of having the hose extend off the side and become a hazard.
@mobiltec4 жыл бұрын
That works too...
@jackonthefarm55406 жыл бұрын
I have two cents to throw in here.I would not be recommending the use of 90 degree elbows on pex. The beauty of pex is that it can eliminate fittings by bending. All fittings are potential leaks. Pieces are available to bend and hold pex in a sweep 90 degree bend for neatness and appearance purposes. The sweep 90 also has much lower pressure drop.

Larry...at 7:57 ... is that a electric water heater or LP Gas? and what do you think of the tankless water heaters for our Vintage Trailers? You know that I'm working on a 1972 Aristocrat ... I am at this exact stage and and at a total stand still... I need help.
@mobiltec5 жыл бұрын
That is a propane water heater. Tankless works. You just need to be able to vent it properly so you don't burn your trailer down.
@JudiChristopher5 жыл бұрын

Why the valve to isolate the pump ? Pumps have a check valve to prevent the city water from filling the fresh water tank so I don't understand why you put extra valves in to turn when you don't need them.
@mobiltec7 жыл бұрын
You never know what the water pressure is going to be in an RV park and it can change. Better to not try to back flush the pump. Besides that, I'm not sure about what you claim as far as a check valve inside the pump is concerned. Your question sparks my interest and I'm going to look into this check valve thing you talk about.
@mobiltec7 жыл бұрын
OK here's what I found out. After reading this I don't think I want to take a chance on reverse water pressure. "NOTE: By-pass adjustment should only be performed by a professional technician with proper gauges and equipment. The by-pass is a spring loaded diaphragm that opens up allowing water from the discharge side back to the inlet side. The by-pass is set to begin opening at about 30 psi and creating full by-pass at about 65 psi. The pressure switch on the pump is set to shut off at 55 psi. If the switch or by-pass are adjusted too much, the by-pass and switch shut-off can overlap and THE PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF. Screwing the switch screw in clockwise will raise the shut-offpressure. Unscrewing the switch screw counterclockwise will lower the pump shut-off pressure. Screwing the by-pass screw in will raise the pressure at which the by-pass starts and raise the full bypass pressure. Unscrewing the by-pass screw counterclockwise will lower the pressure at which by-pass starts and lower the full by-pass pressure. WARNING: If full by-pass is reached before the shut-off setting, the pump will not shut off. Full bypass pressure setting should be at least 10 psi higher than pump shut off pressure.

I'm a RV tech, and replace about 3 pumps a year due to failure of the backflo valve on pumps. Out of thousands we sell. Just saying....
@mobiltec7 жыл бұрын
What do the rest of them fail from?
@rbtpartsman7 жыл бұрын
mobiltec from trash the ebb manufactures leave in the new tanks. They sell the tanks and the tiny plastic pieces fall into the tank and then get caught up in the check valve and slow the little gasket to fail on them. I've took them apart to find out why and found plastic in them. Pumps are DESIGNED to work with their own check valve. Your car is designed so your windows don't leak. So do you build a garage for your car to stay on for the purpose of not letting your car windows leak ? I'm only stating that pumps don't need another valve for people to turn. You have great videos, show great tips. But you don't need a valve to turn every time you go from city to fresh water. It's simply not needed. You can put one there but it's redundant and unnecessary. Everyone makes mistakes. I make them. The valve isn't needed. Simple as that. Not gonna keep aggravating you Larry. Keep putting valves where they aren't needed if you want, I'm not gonna keep "beating a dead horse" here. You don't add extra brakes to your trailer in case the others don't work. You don't add extra fuses in line with each other in case one fails. Same difference. Pumps already have check valves to present tanks from back filling. Extra valves aren't needed at all. You wanna keep telling people they are, then do that. Of all your videos I watch, this was the first I ever commented on in a critical way. I'm not trying to tear you apart. You make great, helpful videos. This one time you are wrong about the valve. You want to argue about it instead of saying ok I see your point, then argue.

Also, I know the fittings you are using are good for beginners, but you can buy the tool for crimping pex for $60 at Lowe's, and the crimp rings and firings are way cheaper that those you use. Nothing wrong with your method, just more expensive than crimping the regular Pex fittings. I like your videos, it's just cheaper to go the other way of buying a tool and crimp rings/fittings.
