I would say selective spell is pretty good, and for a combined caster, extend spell obviously. Particularly if you are using conjuration, selective greases and glitterdusts are great, both for the effect, and the extra slots you can devote to these spells.

The only thing I don't like about Selective is that it doesn't increase DC, while Heighten always does. That and it doesn't work with Lich spells, which is a bummer, since it's what you'll be spamming from Chapter 3+ I personally have a decent time targetting enemies only (if only because you can aim the AoE so it hits the enemies "back" as to leave room for your party with no friendly fire.

@@cRPGBro Nice, I am still working on my first playthrough as I switched from Mac to PC finally and got caught up in cyberpunk 2077 after the change. My character is a purely munchkin charisma monk tank playing on hard mode so I know all about slow starts. I don't intend to play any future games on higher than core as I don't like squeeking through by natural 20s and guarded hearth cheese. Hard mode is already so limiting. I have starts going for a scythe cleaving sword Saint rowdy 2 hand fighter trickster, and a balance priest azata using danse macabre for extra negative energy casts. Much fun ahead, thanks for tips.

Perfect timing, I've spent the last 2 days planning how to respec my lvl 13 Monster Tac lich at the start of Act 3. This is exactly what I'd like, the sorceror builds I was looking at before were powerful but without amazing melee I thought it might get boring. This kind of build is exactly what I was thinking of. S J 1 second ago This dropped whilst I'm in the middle of my own Lich playthrough! I went with even more of a melee focus though, I went Mutation Warrior 3 -> Scaled Fist Monk -> Sorcerer -> Dragon Disciple 4 -> Eldritch Knight. Sacrifices 6 caster levels, which does hurt, but having 3 feats from fighter (including the feat freed up by having martial weapon proficiency) to get access to cleave combined with Wide Sweep has made it worthwhile. Going hellfier signifier so you can cast in armour is a great idea, I just went the cheap way by dipping scaled fist monk so i could get ac from CHA when unarmored. Having an extra early feat to take combat reflexes is nice too. I've started prioritising the AoO feats even earlier, i tend to get CR and StM at level 3 and 5 with Outflank on 7. That way I have my AoO featline activated on my melees in time for the assault on Drezen.

Wide Sweep really is an amazing weapon, I actually like having it on my characters for Chapter 2 until I get Improved Critical at 11 on a desired weapon. Lich can certainly do wonders for a heavier martial focus, but I kinda prefer to have spells earlier 😀

Personally, I usually give Ember Heroism and Greater Heroism. She always ends up using scorching ray and fireball mainly, so she has plenty of utility spells on top of the ones I usually use.

Regarding the Phylactery, there are actually four separate versions, and it uses a priority system to determine what becomes your phylactery when you finish the conversion ritual. The order is Lucky Bracers > Purple Stone Knife > Radiance > Half Your Gold. So, if you have the Lucky Bracers equipped or in your inventory, it will automatically get turned into the Bracers of Armor +5 you had in the video. If you don't have the Lucky Bracers equipped or in your inventory, the Purple Stone Knife (should you have it) will become a +5 Dagger. Radiance is the next option should you not have the first two available, which becomes a +5 Longsword (I think its modified based on if it was corrupted or not, but I don't know for certain). And finally, if none of these are available, you pay half your gold and get a Amulet of Natural Armor. Regardless of which Phylactery you get, and the form it takes, all of them have the same effect of granting the Deadly Magic Ability and healing you back to full once per day.

I did 10 EK, 4 HS 6 Wizard for 16 BAB and 4th attack per round, but I have to admit, Loremaster for 24 hour divine power and opportunist is actually better (LM divine power is something which didnt occur to me, but I will bare in mind for other builds). Relative to prayer from Staunton (which wont be 100% uptime), its another +5. Whilst the BAB is 2 lower, that's still another +3 hit and 5 to damage, and opportunist will nearly always trigger, so the same number of attacks per round (with opportunist being full BAB rather than -15 BAB, so way better).

Basically, I went this route to allow players to achieve level 10 Lich spells still at Chapter 5, otherwise you'd have to wait until Chapter 6 only which is no fun to me, as there's only the final boss left before M10.

I think Thassilonian specialist wrath is pretty good. Unless you want to go for a DC based caster, which a lich simply isnt very good at, particularly with fighter mage build given gear selection (you arent using the warstaff for example) and mythic spells that other than negative energy eruption gets very little benefit from a failed save, a limited use and moderate buff to DC from arcane exploit is probably less useful that 2 extra spell slots per level. Unless they have changed it, the Thassilonian specialist can cast opposition school spells in the mythic spellbook, and without having to spend an extra spell slot, so you get corrupt magic and bone shield, offsetting the key disadvantage of losing abjuration as a spell school. The loss of conjuration at low levels is admittedly quite bad, but its not the end of the world. If you arent respeccing, you dont really want to invest any feats in this school anyway, and later on, the decent spells of this school are rather limited. Tsunami is superseded by mythic spells (summon monster and clashing rocks are honestly not that good at all), and everything else can be accessed through shades, and honestly, you probably only want sea mantle if anything at all.

One thing which occurs to me, whilst I do think the use of loremaster as a modification for the EK/HS/wizard build is a clear improvement, with the 24 hour divine power and opportunist comfortably offsetting the loss of 2 BAB, its not clear why you should bother with HS given this modification. The main draw of HS in the original build is to hit 16 BAB. As implemented in this build, its actually a loss of 1 BAB, and its not obvious there is actually a good reason to take HS given this is the case. Yes, you can wear full plate mithral without arcane spell failure, which is a significant boost to AC, but not enough to make your AC actually good. You have a reach weapon and will always have frightful aspect up, so being attacked shouldnt be all that common, and the extra AC probably wont help much if you are. I think mithral full plate +5 would be 8 more than the harakami or whatever the word is. But you will be losing the +4 sacred bonus to saves, which is actually useful, and without level 3 signifier, will take a movement speed penalty. Your dexterity will also be capped to +3 without armour training, and even if we assume +6 rather than +8 dexterity, if you have the tome, your dex bonus will be +6, or +8 conflagrant taco. So your AC would only be 3 or 4 lower anyway. With 4 loremaster, 6 wizard, you get 1 more AB than your build, slightly better saves baseline, slightly more scaling of either your arcane reservoir or intense spells for example, and save a feat in arcane armour training. These aren't massive benefits, but given it is questionable whether mithral plate is even better than the divine harakami, I would still prefer wizard 6/LM 4/EK10. Also, lorewise I think Urgathoa doesnt really make sense for hellknights. Granted, this isnt a mechanics concern, and you could just not take Urgathoa anyway, but if you did want to go Urgathoa, I think removing HS gets extra RP points.

Signifier was indeed taken mostly for flavor/style, as to be an armored caster. But yes, it is true that for a Lich, AC won't matter overall. The loss in BAB was to support Signifier while ALSO getting lv10 Mythic Lich spells still at Chapter 5, otherwise you could go for another high BAB class for 1 loss of CL which wouldn't matter much spells wise at the end game, but would shift lv10 Mythic spells to Chapter 6/M10 only which I find very boring as it's just the final boss left then.

Spoilers: One thing that might be worth mentioning here, and for all weapon using liches, is that you should not sacrifice your youth during the ritual. This is to avoid the permanent 20% miss chance, besides the stat loss. Make sure that this is the ONLY sacrifice you avoid though, as otherwise zacharius won't transform you.

Monk dip can increase AC, but in reality we don't really need it as a Lich with reach weapons and 1000+ HP. My only concern is that the more dips, the longer it will take to acquire Level 10 Lich Spells.

At 18:43 you mention Divine Power can be turned into 24 hours. How is this accomplished? Greater enduring spells itself doesn't seem to let me get anywhere near that high.

It's the same way for any 1 round/level spell. First you need to reach at least 25 Caster level, because this will make the duration 25 rounds. Easy as merged Angels or Liches. Then you need to Extend it for double that, through the feat or Extend Metamagic Rods. This will make it 50 rounds = 5 minutes, which means Greater Enduring will kick in and convert it to 24h!

Guys, thanks for the build but it starts so weak that it cannot stand unfair during the first 4 levels at least. If you think you can pass chapter 1 so, good luck during your very many re-tries even for basic fights. It is then a little bit "bolstered" to declare "unfair viable" when it is not 100℅ true all the game along.. Nevertheless, Crpg-bro is making a great and useful work for pathfinder gamers.

I'd say it can certainly stand Unfair early. Everything will start Unfair weak, especially classes that do not have a Leopard pet from level 1 (which can then be gained from having Seelah, Camellia, Wenduag or Lann multiclass). Or mercs as soon as you finish the Maze, which can be fully started at level 3, with the possibility of reaching level 4 midways through proper XP management from XP Share Off. You still have Grease & even Glitterdust which severely reduce the challenging encounters inside the Maze, some can and should also be skipped if you don't want to rely too much on RNG. Unfair early game is not simply about build too, you also need proper preparation with other character builds/party composition, including proper use of spells and consumables and certain strategies like ambushes through Charging out of battle. For example, I have a complete guide for Chapter 1 on Unfair here, including the toughest optional encounters all done with Divine Hound Aeon, which I don't think is as strong as a Lich Main Chacter: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJizn6lomMuHsMk

Thanks for your worth reply. I totally agree in general but would ponder so: first, if you play with pets - leopard especially, early at chapter 1, means you need to respec sooner or later and do not strictly follow the proposed guide. Second, my former character was by luck a pure aeon I went through the game with, strictly following the guide since the beginning in Hard difficulty and was able to lead fights while it is the opposite with Lich King. Again, this comment applies to first levels only. But damn' it is just a remark and my walkthrough purpose here is to gather a full living dead party and to achieve the secret ending.

I play Lich a lot, but playing Crossblooded Sorc4/Scale Fist1/EK10/DD4/Loremaster1 is probably better melee oriented build even you sacrifice 10th level spells, you could be like 90+ AB and 100+ AC. Also currently broken Legend transition which allows you to keep mythic spells is insane, so Lich=>Legend or Angel=>Legend and still having up to 10th mythic spells, so you could be easily 135+ AC and 115+ AB monster which is precisely what you need for secret DLC3 boss which I managed to find and shared the guide on discord ;)

CHA combos can indeed help a lot with AC and other stuff, it's just that usually I prefer the far faster speed progression speed of prepared casters, especially after the Mythic Merge nerf to spontaneous. Some Legend combos are neat too, since they won't remove merged Spellbook or Trickster feats 😁 Also AC is something I find overkill on most chars (thankfully there are ways to cheese even the absurd AB enemies like Spider Swarms, Last Stand, concealment now that it is NOT bypassed by True Seeing with Mind Blank etc).

Cue internal screaming as console does NOT allow you to multi-class ANY of the casting prestige classes with each other (It's in the darn requirements even. 'does not have level 1 of X Class'). Unless there is some setting somewhere that I missed that you can toggle. It's frustrating because I used to love dipping into dragon disciple for either a massive strength score or to cover the fact that str was the dump stat.

Bro, if you go full abjuration sorcerer you can get Corrupt Magic to DC 50. So, use Goggles of Pure Sight before combat, greater quicken rod, Corrupt Magic to purge literally everything off Areelu, and then 1 shot with Absolute Death in a single turn. It's insane!

I think the ability to cast a swift spell when u do a critical weapon strike is a bit overkill since you have shown multiple time that everything dies istant of attack of opportunities if someone does a weapon critical strike.

I'd say both are very close Angel wise, as they can both merge with Angel for the same spells. Cleric has faster spell progression speed though, especially with merge. Difference is mostly: do you want a somwhat stronger main character (for example with far more AC, 3x Initiative rolls), then go Oracle. Or do you want far stronger party support (and I find this is much more needed on Hard/Unfair than) then go Cleric because Domains are really OP. To put it simply, I can easily do parties without Oracle, but without Cleric... Domains are just too good!

It's because that boost to Fighter Upgrade was actually only added later through a Patch, I believe. Before it just set the BAB to high.

Hello! Is it viable if I replace the Bardiche with a longsword? I feel like corrupted radiance would be cool to use as a Lich King type character. Also, I don't remember if you covered this in the video, but how do you deal with the Lich transformation debuff, because I heard that gives you a nasty miss chance.

It can be viable since Liches still get a LOT of powerful buffs to AB, but you would lose out on the synergy of having INT count for your AB & damage. That debuff is only ONE of the options you pick when changing into Lich at M9, you can also go for money, a special item and romance too. You don't have to pick it.

Out of curiosity, when playing these builds through do you start at level 1 and play through the Kenabras segment every time? Or do you usually respec and start from later one? I find unless you have Cleave, the start of the campaign is always pretty much the same.

It depends. There are some builds I took from beginning to the end, usually the ones I displayed for each Mythic Guide when I first made them. Others I play at key points through respec. You are correct in that I also find early game rather... samey and boring, Chapter 3 when you FINALLY get your Mythic is when things truly get fun and unique to me.

I'm thinking of making one that goes GD later for my Gold Dragon Build. Sadly Liches cannot cast polymorph spells on themselves after they reach Mythic 9, so you kinda have to change into another Mythic late game if you want to do it for Chapter 5.

Did you notice lethal stance bug and magical vestment bug with the DLC patch ? they seems doesn t work anymore, i posted on owlcat forum :((( can you make a tuto for concealment ? wich one stack, wich one protect from what ? blind fight rank 1 2 3, scent, true seeing, echolocation, see invisibility, invisibility, dispalcement, blur etc ... it is really a mess :(

Sylvan Sorc is great fun, but I kinda wanted to do a non pet arcane caster for once haha. I have not noticed a Lethal Stance bug yet. Magical Vestment wise what I saw is that it is no longer applied to pet/unarmored/robes & clothing, but still working for armor. For example, I have Mithral Full Plate +1 with this Lich here, which I turned into +5 through the spell.

Still a little annoying that you can't just place it anywhere, works perfectly fine for Storm of Justice. Because Undead get CHA instead of CON for HP I just think that Sorcerer is great for him. I just wonder if there is a way to build some kind of ranged Lich like spells + bow focused on CHA + DEX. There is a bow that gives you bonus damage from mobility and there is a headband giving you bonus to bows damage from CHA and I just want to find a way to mix these two.

Yeah, the bonus combat feat is for the skeleton fighter. But they're using my character for the pre-reqs which means I couldn't pick shattered defenses as I already have it.

This looks great but I‘ve got a question because multi classing is so confusing. Is the robe from the DLC required for turning spells like firebrand into 24 hours with this build?

Nope, Liches can hit 32 Caster Level by default, or 31 with this build. This is WITHOUT gear boosts like that Robe. To hit 24h duration with 1 round/level spells such as Firebrand, what you need is: 1. 25 Caster Level, so the spell lasts for 2.5m 2. Extend Spell to double that to 5m 3. It will then become 24h with Greater Enduring Spells. Please note Elemental Barrage was nerfed not to work with melee anymore, so avoid picking it with this build. The final damage is still very high without it.

This is very similar to my first Lich character though it was EK10, Sorc 6, HK Sig 4 and ended the game with 43 DR/- CL 29 and BAB 17

Pretty sure thats 16 BAB, still enough to get 4th attack.

Basically, the reason I stopped at less than 16 BAB is that it was the only way of achieving Level 10 Lich Spells at Chapter 5, otherwise you'd have to wait until M10 at Chapter 6 which is no fun to me as there's only the final boss left to do after it. That DR sounds really fun!
