Hi! I own the Pfaff 1475 CD and love it. I was wanting to try to attach a different walking foot to help a little more with sewing jersey hems. Do you know if I can remove the dual feed foot to put on a different one? I’m not quite sure if it can be removed.

How do you thread the bobbin if your threading it before you put the needle in? You said there's two ways but you only showed one

My mom recently got a previously owned 1475 and the circuit board now needs to be repaired. It costs about $600. What’s your opinion on that? She’s wondering if it’s worth fixing. The shop gives a 90 day warranty on their work, so obviously that’s not so great. Do you think it will last a long time if she goes ahead and has it repaired? Just not sure what the record is for this particular machine and the likelihood of it lasting another 20 plus years.

She’s had it a year and the previous owner had it much longer but took super good care of it as does my mom.

With the Dual Feed, it's good for leather, provided you use thread that isn't too heavy.

Dear Mr Paul Howell,I am french from France Bretagne, I share your opinion about this machine and I have one myself for now 30 ayears with absolutly no fixing or damage at all. But lately the little spring that maintains the second walking foot have popped out . I have ordere one but I battle to replace it . I can't figure out how to open the machine to place the new one. Hi Paul. My machine will suddenly race = stitch very fast. I must take my foot off the pedal in order to regain control. Is it a mother board problem or foot pedal problem?

I agree, I have had it since about 1989 and it still works great, except my hand wheel is no longer disengaging the sewing mechanism. Any ideas why? Thank you.

That's a common problem, easily repaired IF you know how to do it. If you don't know how, it's going to seem impossible and you might break something. If I make a video on it, I'll let you know.

I have the creative 1476cd machine, the pfaff atk0033 control foot. The control foot stopped working and I went in and tried to see if it needed to be cleaned. Now we don't know where the copper bent wire goes. Anyone able to help? there is one copper piece that I can't remember where it goes.

Yes, that's the password option. Take the batteries out of the bottom and leave it unplugged and turned off for 24 hours and it should reset. Check your manual under Password.

There are two ways to repair that, each requires some disassembly. Basically the original grease used to lubricate the presser bar has hardened and it needs removal of the old grease and some new applied.

Compared to what from the late 80's early 90's? ;-) I still use mine and it is 30 plus years old. Gotta love that. No major repairs, except my hand wheel quit working.

Paul Howell You are right! I had been looking at a 1222 on a local Craig’s List. But I discovered it had broken plastic gears and the direct feed was not there. Got my models mixed up there!
