Just come across this video and I can honestly say this has got to be the best advice I've seen on KZbin , as I'm fairly new to golf and a 19 handicapper I will be doing this at the weekend in the comps I'm playing and see where it gets me 👍👏

Great idea for a video gal and just goes to show, don’t walk up and whack it. Take a moment to think about what you’re capable of and what you can achieve. Bit by bit it will knock shots of your score and bring down the handicap

I have been working on reducing my handicap all summer. Watching this vlog is a great help. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge to improve all aspects of the game. Your knowledge of the game is very valuable which I definitely will take on to the course. I like how you get James to think about each of his shots. This will definitely help me. I look forward to your next vlog with James. Great vlog Gary! 👍

Thanks John. Im not saying everyone is guilty, but I know I am, sometimes I overthink the swing on the course rather than being more focused on course management.

I enjoyed this video. I'm glad that James had such a great round, but - as a high handicapper - I do think that when you get into a more constructive and positive head space everything just starts to go better. That feeling that "I'm scoring great and it's all going so easy!". Thanks for the great video!

James will be single figures next year no issues. He’s clear receptive to advice and wants to learn. Golf is a game of recovery. You’ll only hit 18 shots a round that are an actual success, no matter what level you’re at, the ones you get in the hole! Everything else is plotting your way there.
@GolfAddyventuresАй бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Stuart, really appreciate it. Love the 18 shot success thought process too, it’s what makes this game so addictive 😊

Great job Gaz. He just needs a gaping session and also a wedge distance session to fully tune him in. On the 8th hole that you played when he was doing his own course management my only small criticism would be that he appeared to aim his approach shot at the flag rather than slightly left which is why he missed to the right. Great U&D though!! Look forward to more of this series.

I completely agree with distance gapping. Great point yes, I noticed that now you mentioned it 👌🏼

He should have used no than a PW out of the longer rough Gary, back onto the fairway in position to hit a better shot to the green, IN LONG ROUGH LOST IS YOUR FRIEND, 8 iron in longer rough shuts down the face too easily. From the par 3, shot short onto the green, a chip and run would have been better choice, than a lofted shot, hit it into the bank to take the power off, the ball should then release onto the green, IMHO. Percentage shot and a better miss than a 56 degree. James needs a bit of short game practice as you said Gary, hitting off the back foot, hands forward, rather than using the bounce to make the shot easier and get more spin on the shot. James has good fundamentals and ability to become a very good golfer.

James must be a big boy Gaz, he makes you look short! Great advice there. I'm sure course management can save James a bucket full of shots. Level fives is always a good starting point for a player of James' standard as it takes the pressure off his game. He definitely has the ability to play 'bogey golf' Good series Gaz 👍

@@garymartingolfD'ya know what Gaz? I've just watched this again. James did so well! Something I'd not really given enough weight to was how totally relaxed James was and how he absolutely accepted that his shot shape is a fade and he embraced that totally...he played some awesome shots and putted extremely well, not for a mid handicap, for a golfer of any standard. Well played again James 👏👏👏

I'd definitely tee up on the right if I faded it, I'd have picked James's tee and ball out and put it a foot away from the marker, to emphasise what you was saying. Then on the dog leg right hole, I'd have had James tee up on the very left hand side, to open up the view of the hole as much as possible.. What a big difference between how well James has played this evening and a few months ago, it's very impressive.!!
