"Phantasm IV" had some creative editing to utilize previously unreleased scenes from the original film. "Oblivion" is still way better than "Ravager", which was an absolute mess.

One thing i always wondered about this series is if mike might be related to the tall man, maybe like he is one of his descendants. Yet i would guess that he is merely seeking out people with more advanced minds that can be used to create the golden spheres within, and somehow what we saw when Reggie attempts to recuse Mike is the Tall man teaching Mike to use his abilities.

Ash would have gone deaf in his left ear, Reggie in his right ear. Or at least, they'd get really bad tinnitis.

I've actually seen the whole 'noose hanging from the sky' thing before. In our Operatic Societies production of Phantom of the Opera a few years ago the noose got caught on one of the lighting bars one night and was left hanging there for the rooftop scene. If I remember rightly the Lighting guy got the Screw-Up award for that.

I watched this and Ravager right after your stream last week , since i knew you'd be doing them and i hadn't seen them yet. this one can definitely be a bit slow , i found myself getting bored after a little while , compared to Ravager , which had a bit too much going on . In the 1800's, many scientists worked out of labs at home, with day jobs to support themselves; as such it's not unreasonable to think a mortician sick of overwhelming death from the Civil War would seek a portal to a kinder world. Being experimental, Jebidiah had no way to control his destination, and not only lost his life to an extra-dimensional entity, but accidentally opened our world malevolent beings in need of slaves. Scenes of the Tall Man's world are hellish (maybe their sun was expanding to a red giant before it's imminent collapse?), perhaps the reason he sped up the slave harvesting was to try to save his own people. The best bad guys are always the hero of their own story. And the Oscar for best self-inflicted dope slap goes to....the best hair on the internet!!!

David Brown part of the Phantasm charm for me was how lofi and disjointed it all was. I don't think this would play on regular TV. Netflix however!? Anyhoo To this day I'm not sure if don coscarelli is a bona fide genius or a sub Troma lunatic. I cant believe I've had a personal relationship to this movie since the mid 80's

You are a very entertainin man and you have good content from the several videos I have watched by you. However I cannot watch this or 5. Phantasm "ended" at 3 for me. Many people that I know as well as online reviews have mostly trashed these last 2 "sequels". I have the same outlook on Creepshow 3 as well. None of them exist. You are still great Decker, cheers *EDIT* My ranks for the trilogy are 3 then 1 then 2 but all 3 movies are still good overall

How does Phantasm end at 3? That movie introduces so many ideas - Jody coming back, the golden sphere in Mike's head, the Tall Man wanting to turn Mike into his replacement - that are absolutely useless without Oblivion. At least this movie has a resolution of sorts and can work as a finale to the franchise.

I actually really like this as an ending to the series. The more surreal tone and ambiguity to the ending. I always liked to think that when Reggie says 'do you feel that' in the past footage, that's supposed to mean that in reality he's dead, and the series ends on a downer note. Yeah, it's not great, but ever since 5 came out and SHIT did that blow, I'd rather just look at 4 as the end.

Man this and child's play/Chucky the only ones not ruined by age and influence. Loved cult of chucky and loved the last movie with angus scrimm in it. The only issue is who can fill his shoes make something as simple as the word "Boyyy" sound so terrifying. Maybe go the opposite way and show how the tall man was born or created(a prequel kinda) ughh cuz otherwise it will be like replacing Doug Bradley as pinhead/the hell-priest. i don't think anyone alive has the ability to fill with dread quite like Mr. Scrimm did.

I love any and all reviews for Phantasm 4. Even if they're bad or positive. Because this Phantasm movie is my second favorite right behind the original in my opinion is one of the best Phantasm movies that has ever been made and it's one of my favorites. I love that it has a bunch of deleted scenes from the original I love Reggie. And I love Mike. Part 4 and part 5 have my favorite version of Mark. I love how badass he is in these two films. Even though the tall man isn't the best he has been in this movie I still freaking love him.
