I just purchased the phantom 4 for Christmas. I"m watching different video's on "how to" do thing. Yours are the best i"ve seen. You really take the time to explain things where others simply do them and expect you to understand how it's done. Nice job on your videos. I look forward to seeing more! Don

It's so nice to videos that are relatively short and too the point. You can tell you are a professional because you aren't rambling and stuff. There are so many KZbinrs that it's like they are "thrilled to be no TV" or that they have their "own show." But most of them TALK to much or have super long intros, etc. They 10 mins to do what could be done in 4 mins. So you are doing a great job. Keep it up.

Great tip about extend sticks !! Probably explained in the original DJI User Instuctions, but...I didn't read it ! (Shame on me). Many years ago, working with Inspire 1 as a camera operator, I never was worried about rudder aircraft, pilot does his job and I've did mine. But in my hobby time with P4 Advance I also want to get good shoots. So, EXP or nothing ! 0.30 works fine for me. Congratulations, very good explained video, Bill. Greetings from Barcelona, Spain.

Yep, adjusting your "dual-rates and expo" is right out of RC 101 for hobbyists. While panning with the rudder, I also like to give a little opposite side pitch (aileron). In other words, move the right stick to the right while turning left with the left stick and vice-versa. This has been affectionately known as the "circle strafe" among us fps gamers for years, now it's called Orbit or Point of Interest. This also gives your shot more natural movement. Adjust to a higher frame rate to smooth out the jitters. Great vid!

Very helpful,as usual. Thanks, Bill. I have also found it helps to slow down the gimbal tilt speed. I've turned it down to 60 (in the RC controls tab). This gives a gentle, feathered tilt which just about looks smooth in 4K playback.

Hi Bill, I've just upgraded from a Parrot Bebop 2 drone (a good starter drone) to a new Phantom 4 and I just wanted to say a huge "thanks" for your videos. They've been invaluable and such a help. I've really enjoyed the Phantom so far and the experience I gained with the Parrot Bebop 2 with SkyController and my old T-Rex RC Helicopters a few years ago a great help when it comes to drones. I am making my way through your videos and found then invaluable. I look forward to many more :) Craig - Australia

Good info Bill for those that are new to RC, can also help if you pinch i.e.. hold the sticks with your thumb and forefinger like your holding a pen, can give you more accuracy but even regular RC flyers argue which is best, find what suits you and your comfortable with, good videos thanks Regards Phil

Bill, I keep coming back to your videos for tips & suggestions regarding the P4, this video being a perfect example. Suggestion for a video: I'm interested in night time stills using slow shutter speeds - 1-2 seconds. Makes for some great night shots providing it's not windy - I'd like to see what you come up with. tt

Bill, also check out the Litchi app for the phantom, it would will be very useful for your architectural photography where you can pre program a flight prior to take off. Oh and can I respectfully suggest that as your channel grows that you promote best practice in flying, keeping within FAA and AMA guidelines that is not flying over built up areas, roads etc etc, a lot of tubers are breaking the law (casey being the worst offender) which will enviably lead to more regulation. Best wishes Adrian

Good stuff! What I really want to know is how to set a limit on the top speed of rotation. It's difficult to hold a steady rotational speed somewhere in the center of the stick range. A max speed stop would let me hold the stick at max and have it move slow.

The yaw (rudder) expo setting is the only one that needs to be adjusted (lowered)for nice smooth videos, and it doesn't go low enough, in my opinion, to get those really nice slow pans. The lowest setting it will let you set it at is .20

Hey, thanks for taking the time to share your expert knowledge on expo, really useful information and made the changes to my settings right away. Probably would never have discovered the settings without your video. Just one question regarding the beginning of that vid, the movement of the traffic seemed very jerky, was that on purpose because you didn’t have an ND filter on and your shutter speed was very fast as a result ?

This is great advice - especially for those of us using the carbon fiber rotors. I find that they make the aircraft maneuver much more aggressively. Getting smooth videos has been my goal. BTW: Do you have any advice on camera settings? Is there any way to set up the camera and make the settings stay?
