scotty is straight stubborn on his viewpoints sometimes, ive never heard a guy go backwards on his own words so hard just to be "right".... "i dont need dual spec to parse 99's".... "lets use someone like me for example, when i level up i never change specs"..... yea no shit dude, youve played the game for 20 years and know exactly every talent point before you even spend it, most people arent giga chad 1% parsers like mr scotty over here. dual spec being 50g makes perfect sense, if the respec cost maxes out at 1g already, putting it at anything significantly higher than 50g will make it just not worth it period.

Yeah, agree--nobody would spend hundreds of gold if respec was 1g. It wouldn't make any sense. And for reasons I stated in my own post in these comments, it makes perfect sense for dual spec to be cheap, because everyone benefits.

Changing specs/runes to find out what you like should be encouraged. 50g is an excellent sink, cause that is a substantial amount of money, especially if you have alts.

The Nightmare Incursions sounds like they ported the Emerald Dream zone from Dragonflight. For those that don't know, it's just a new zone that you port into where you do daily quest (alone) and world bosses (raid). It's practcally just a hub for daily quests to grind rep. Not sure how the do the 25 to 50 scaling though.

I feel Scotte is more of a Retail player. To me the differences in Classic and Retail is the focus between the open world and instanced group/raid content. That's the main difference and the more "Classic" focuses on raiding/dungeon grinding, the less I want to play it. I totally relate to the bearded guy's playstyle and totally excited for Nightmare Incursions. It is described as new open world zones.

Concerning the convo around @1:05:00 dealing with Blizzard's seemingly hypocritical change in gold sink policy (and I haven't seen the resolution so forgive me if someone [Go] already came to this conclusion): Scotty, you're right that the devs said they no longer wanted gold sinks to stand in the way of players' "critical gear path." And you are right that dual spec isn't on most players' "critical gear path" (it might be for progression raids tho, when a DPS swaps to heals for a difficult boss, but that's pretty niche). But the larger point might be this: they don't want gold to be a major obstacle in SoD, full stop. They don't want anyone to quit playing the game because of gold. SoD is seasonal, it should be breezy and people should be able to catch up and then not fall behind because of a SILLY THING (kekw) such as gold. So it's tricky, because they obviously want gold to have value, but not make it game-breakingly necessary. And dual spec will be massive for a lot of people.... ....not for me tho, because I don't PvP. I have 3 characters at 40 and I've respec'd 3 or 4 times total so far. So 50g is a ridiculous price FOR ME, and yeah unless they change it to be 5g or less I think I'll pass lol

Scotty was his usual hilarious self, I really enjoyed Bob still beingreasonable but without being held down by all the usual Warcraft Reloaded shpiels (sp) and being 15% looser...and Gho! Just wow. This is the first Cubicle Chat I've caught since the first 4 or 5 and I'm blown away by how much more fluid and comfortable you sound in front of the mic. I think Scotty is wrong on dual spec, because 1) seasonal 2) the benefit of dual spec to the community is more ready to tank tanks and ready to heal healers---faster groups get formed and people spend a lot less time spamming for these roles. I think Blizzard learned this, and it's why DS went from 1000g in WOTLK to like 30 in Cata.

he's right for a more long-term server. he's simply right. people arguing against gold-sinks for QoL features are arguing against the GAME itself and they don't know it. especially if they keep balancing hybrid dps specs and adding appropriate gear, then the NEED for dual-spec will decrease and people won't feel the burn of the gold-sink quite as much. I wouldnt give a shit about my nether drake from years ago in Cata if I hadn't spent weeks grinding for it. that's the game. advancing yourself in however way requires some extended input. without this then it ceases to be an rpg.

@@cole8834 Hard disagree on dual spec. I'm all for gold sinks. If they are for achievements, cosmetics, etc. For example, I am 100% with you on nether drakes. Someone not having a nether drake doesn't limit the number of tanks or healers available to play the game with. However with dual spec, high cost is a huge mistake. How do I know? Because lack of it is precisely why I quit TBC Classic. And I know I wasn't alone. I didn't have time like I did years ago to spend an hour or more just to put a group together. And I could not afford to to spec back and forth to even play the role I was recruiting. That said, I'm confident it won't be expensive, because Blizzard has already signaled spec swapping should be easy. The 1g cap already in place proves it. And having it dual spec be 50 gold in the video pretty much guarantees it will be cheap. If they jacked it up to 500 or something after the video, players would lose their minds.

Players dont know what they want. there WAS a time when most players would say "vanilla WoW sucked! everything took forever" but then Classic came out and doubled WoW's subs... I guess we all* can merely hope the devs behind SoD think neither like players, nor like businessmen trying to make money, but like DEVELOPERS.

The dual spec conversation was so entertaining 😂 I feel that if they release it for somewhere around 25-100g is fair for dual spec. Also, I don't know what is best for Resilience vs Stamina. The way things stand, stamina is the quick easy fix. Resilience might be too tough or not worth it for the devs?

I went into wrath after icc released and trying to find a guild to run raids is almost impossible. I got into mulitple guilds that raided but wouldn't take me into icc becuase of my gearscore and then wouldn't run older raids to help me gear up and when asking to do then i got the go find a gdkp to run those and icc. Problem being fresh with no gold and i refuse to buy wow tokens and gold. Almost every raid isna gdkp and i was not having fun playing the game trying to farm gold just so i can play the part of the game i want to play. Gdkps have ruined the classic experience for me and the removal of them in SoD has been amazing. People now actually play with each other and do things together. Gdkps just need to go away.

Lol no they don't. My lfg chat is full of "LFM 6/6 w/wb and consumes. Checking logs. People will spend 2-3 hours looking for 2 dps to shave off 15 minutes of raid time. My 3rd alt is a melee hunter and it takes forever to find a raid group because my gear isn't good enough to parse high even tho my damage is top 3 in the raid most fights.

About gold sinks and dual spec argument so what those 2 guys want to happen exactly they werent clear and im confused. They dont want to pay gold for gearing path apperantly, they dont want to pay gold for convenience so whats left? I dont know if you understand this or not but gold sinks has to be on something valuable so it can complete its "sink" task.You cant place a gold sink to a transmog item which %5 of player base interested and expect to remove gold from economy. Ohh If you are saying there shouldnt be any gold sinks I cant argue with that... thats just lack of understanding/education about how economy works. At that point you could say there shouldnt be gold at all.

I was wondering where the butt gauge with Ohio, Baltimore thing was going in the intro (train derailment, and the bridge incident) I think it is a comedic topic, mainly for the fact that Buttgauge is a poofter, and he was talking at some point about a brindge being racist, or racially inconsiderate 😆👩‍🦼🤪 Hoping the 20 man raiding of next phase does not make my guild of less than 20 members just give up, and hope we are still able to raid. Pugging players have been over all a bad experience, even with reading through the logs to filter out the absolute worst. Timed dungeon is not a good fit. Hard dungeons are good. Cata HC dungeons early on were great. I like having to use every ability, every crowd control, every thing to make sure you do not get smacked. But then we need hex, and other goodies too 🙂
