Patching up your own phaser in VCV rack or other software modular is lots of fun. You can get a similar spacey vibe without the "its a phaser" vibe. Basically, just send your signal through a bunch of notch filters with independent modulation.

I DIYed a phaser pedal and I love the way it sounds on synths! Makes sense because one of the earliest phaser effects was actually developed by Tom Oberheim. Maestro PS-1 Phase Shifter! Sweet stuff 😃 Oh and by the way, I just wanted to say how beautiful your overhead shot looks 👌

Well, yes, that sounds like a phaser. Midi synced lfo or envelope following would make it more 2023. Look at the pigtronix envelope phaser for a modern take. For this sound I don't think you can beat an ehx small stone which nails the JMJ vibe.

Macon ph350 is a nice one. I do recall someone.. Past FX?? Offering both a take on it and the Fox Foot Phaser. I have owned a PH350 since eh.. ‘06 ish? Has many a nice tone that I feel most likely most complimentary to keys or even mic’d horns.

YES!!! Absolutely loved using the phasor on percussions with slow phase. While doing the video, the octatrack jam was my favorite use of the phasor by far👍🏼
