That’s the same pheasant tail I’ve been tying for 50+ years. It’s amazing that pheasant tails in multiple sizes still work great. Along with hares ear and little black stones we have the most effective nymphs that still work. As far as brig goes, I guess he will learn. Right now he’s at the age he knows everything. But as we know he needs to live and learn

I like tying with out the bead, heavy hook and wire is often enough weight. Always carry a variety of pheasant tails.

Good fly . Dark variation of Sawyer's Original . Legs ? Frank did not include them as he wanted fly to sink as fast as possible. I like it so will tie some up . Well tied good presentation and explanation . Thanks 👌
