The first time I remember seeing Phil Baroni was on The Tough Man boxing circuit back in the late '90s and early 2000's. Phil was hell on wheels, he was causing a ruckus and beating the shit out of people. I've pretty much had the chance to watch Baroni's career from the beginning until now. You're a good man Chael Sonnen.

Watching this in early 2023. Phil Baroni is in a Mexican prison for murdering his girlfriend. He was in Mexico running from a stalking charge. (Correction: he was in Mexico with his gf, who left and put charges on him in America. ) Now there's indications of after-death abuse. It wasn't a schtick, he's got issues.

He'd already posted this picture 'bout a month ago (maybe not the exact same pic, but it was another picture of him holding that gun to his head smiling at the camera, that he quickly deleted). Plenty of people have already tried to contact him/contact his friends to try to make sure he's not going to kill himself, let's hope someone got thought to him. Can't believe he was supposed to fight Thiago Alves bare knuckle at BKFC 12, after that fiasco against Chris Leben where he would just clinch the entire time... I've enjoyed watching Phl fight for 16 years now, I loved it when he was part of Hammer House and taking out guys like Dave Menne, Yuki Kondo or Ryo Chonan, but he can't do any sport where he risks taking hits to the head anymore.

I remember watching this video 2 years ago and at the time I wasn't surprised and I knew back then that the future of Phil didn't look good. Fast forward 2 years and Phil's in a Mexican jail for manslaughter of his Mexican girlfriend. Back 2 years ago it seemed Mike Perry was on this same path, but it seems Perry has put himself in a better place currently. Phil's alot older than Perry so I just hope Perry can keep his head on straight.
