I ALWAYS preach for people to listen to this song and appreciate Phil’s voice, how it builds up and at the end he just unleashes all the pent up emotion, and builds to that amazing crescendo at the end. So glad I was a teenager in the 80ies. The music was fenomenale and I was fan of a lot of bands in that time. Phil Collins was for sure one of them and then there was: Queen, Prince, George Michael, Michael Jackson, U2 and so many others. Just looooove the 80ies with real talent and various sounds♥♥♥

When I was at Uni in 2005, freshers week, I took part in a general knowledge pub quiz. 22 or so questions. The guy in charge of writing the answers on our table, who was, to put it mildly, obscenely drunk, thought it would be completely hilarious just to write 'Phil Collins' for every single answer. When it came to swapping the answers to be marked with another table, because it wasn't compulsory to swap with the table next door, he just held onto it and basically just marked the paper himself. He wrote 22/22 on the back of the sheet and handed it in, with everyone else, to the quiz master. The quiz master obviously didn't check the actual answers and just took the score! He won! A TV! 😂 I remember we were all laughing so hard, the sight of him carrying the TV back to the table falling all over the place.. the sheer look of disbelief on his face lol.

cause the richer the labels get, the shittier they get. rich ass music executives only want the most engineered and constructed pop songs nowadays that you've hear 1000 times cause they think, since its what sells the most, that it is the best music. music execs think with their wallets, music lovers listen with their hearts.

One of the best performers and singers of the 80’s to today! For a crowd like that it took balls to not do anything but piano on a song that has an amazing arrangement with the other instruments…..and he did it perfectly! Gave people a performance they would never forget. Given us music we will never forget throughout his career.

In The Air Tonight - Once Again, One of Phil's Collins most known, Legendary hits that he had ever made in his career and in the history of music. He entered his solo carreer in the best way possible with this hit, and still to this day, it has it's effects, and goes well. This has to be the crown to Phil's work and tracks, a masterpiece, and you literally can't be a Phil Collins Fan, or a Rock N Roll fan, without knowing or liking this hit. The lyrics, and instrumental plus emotion in this track can't be matched, heard and used around the world in movies, games, shows and dominating the radio. All the best Phil, A True One of a kind. Legendary!

Phil Collins is the frickin man! Earlier in the day, he performed at Live Aid, Wembly Stadium; then immediately hopped on a Concorde jet afterwards, flew across the Atlantic, and made it in time to perform at Live Aid, JFK Stadium later in the day. He also was the guest drummer for Led Zepplin's reunion set that evening, (though their set was easily the worst performance of the day, but still) and if he couldn't be any more impressive, while on that Concorde jet, he ran into Cher, who had no idea about Live Aid; and he actually convinced her to come and perform as well!

@@janazaki1063 Well, because Cher didn't even know about Live Aid, which Collins couldn't believe, she didn't have anything prepared, or a backing band to play with. She sang with the other celebrities during "We are the world".

Led zeppelin at live aid was strange although they are one of the best rock bands of all time robert plant sounded just off idk why he just did
@thelegendinhisownmind70384 жыл бұрын
@@harrygoodchild4563 Plant sounded off key, Page was badly out of tune, and losing a one-on-one fight with an upright mic stand....The only one who actually played well was John Paul Jones, but then again I don't think he ever played a single note out of key during his entire time with Zepplin. This is what happens when you decide to reunite for a wonderful cause, but choose to wing it, instead of practicing, after spending around 5 years having not played a single show together. Plant and Page being pissed drunk didn't help matters either. This just goes to show, even legends need to rehearse after a lengthy time apart if they want to put on a good show, as opposed to being a drunken embarrassment.

Such an amazing day to have witnessed on MTV live and local radio audio. Epic day when the world seemed to come together for the ghastly images of Ethiopia. Those who have so much …. This event, as Joan said was ‘our Woodstock’. Wonderful moment in time that brought together great artists. Remember Tina an Mick? Stones an Dylan? Dylan an McCartney? It was just a real wow day for music fans. Petty, Bowie an so many others gone now. After Phil did this, he and Barrie sat in for John Henry Bonham for what was effectively ‘Led Zeppelin’. LZ sunset Stairway? Good times to be alive when it wasn’t ‘classic rock’ yet
