The only comedian with a truly rubber face. Brilliant!

Still very very funny in 2023! This guy is simply pure entertainment and I wished his shows were repeated now. He deserves to be known by todays audiences. Hope he’s ok. Thank you Phil.😂😂

I can't believe it's 33 years since I saw this, it still makes me laugh just as much now.

it’s beyond amazing how he did that face. I’ve never seen anything like it before

Funniest guy who've ever lived. This "stuck in aquaphibian face" sketch had me in a state where I was laughing so much I couldn't breath. It was almost fatal. Kevin

Saw him live in 2010 a few months before he retired from performing. He was still amazingly brilliantly funny.

I bumped into Phil Cool in the high st. of my home town Southend-on-Sea 25 years ago, when he was appearing at the Cliffs Pavilion in Westcliff. Even then I was a big fan and naturally said "Hi Phil." I didn't even ask for an autograph as I didn't want to draw too much attention. You know what? He completely ignored me and looked down at the ground. It's one of those moments in your life that you wish you could forget!

I would not take it personally. Maybe he was really shy. A lot of these guys are I think. To be extraordinary on stage you have to be pretty unusual off stage I think. I once saw a guy who I knew of who had bad facial injuries from the Falklands war. In the time it took me to recognise him, identify him and think about going over to shake his hand, he looked at me, saw a rude starer, and averted his eyes. It's just life - one miscommunication after another.

One of the biggest mysteries to me; that Phil Cool didn't become stellar. His last major TV series was early ninties in the ITV 'Spitting Image' slot - not the best written, but Phil was great! This clip is from his 1988 BBC Thursday night show - the best he ever did.

Got to see him Phil Cool in Concert with Jasper Carrott back in 2004. He's still as hilarious as ever and looks very healthy. He still looks pretty much the same now as he did at the time of this Video (1987)

Actually, Phil Cool is very, very good. It is easy to pick holes in a performance that is 25 years old, but it made more sense in its day because the aquaphibian character took Phil's core audience (at that time) back to their childhood. Most people under 30 now wouldn't have even heard of Stingray, so its not surprising that people like Tungstenkid find it easy to post derogatory comments. As someone else pointed out, this stuff really should be on DVD!

His send up of the Paul Simon/Chevy Chase 'You Can Call Me Al' music video was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Would love to find a recording of it.

Its a shamehe's not on the box anymore. Used to tape his shows weekly as a kid and watch them over and over. Saw him at the height of his fame and i had tears streaming down my face. I guess now he's off the telly, he's done an Alan Partridge and plays smaller audiences?
