When the pressure is on and your biggest dreams and goals are on the line... when all eyes are on you... how do you EXECUTE with clarity and accuracy? You VISUALIZE your victory!
This week's interview breaks down the path to victory and I could think of NO ONE BETTER to join us in this conversation than my dear friend and one of the top 5 golfers of ALL TIME, Phil "Lefty" Mickelson!
Phil is one of the GREATEST athletes from the last 2 decades in ANY SPORT! He's in the World Golf Hall Of Fame (and still playing), he's won 44 PGA Tour, 51 professional wins, 5 Majors, 3 Masters and has spent 700+ weeks in the top 10 golfers in the world! And what's even more inspiring is that his professional wins are minuscule compared to the type of father, husband, and friend he is! It is my delight to bring you inside the mind of a true GOAT!
Ever wonder what the difference is between the person who finishes #1 and the person who finishes last? In this interview, you'll learn the secret formula YOU need if you want to be able to pull away from the masses, sharpen your skills and your mental preparation and bring home the WIN.
Whether you are trying to win in sports, in business, in your relationships, in your faith, in your fitness, in any area of your life, the formula is the same!
Learn how one of the most successful athletes trains his brain in PREPARATION to win and how to turn visualizing your victory into an obsession!
Remember, our obsessions become our possessions! If you are ready to attain your biggest victory, this interview is for you!
On May 24th, Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady will take on Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning for "The Match: Champions for Charity" golf tournament along with a $10 million charitable donation made to COVID19 relief - Who do you think will win??

“When you visualize, you visualize the shots and where it’s going to.” Such a powerful statement. What I understood from this statement is that “Mental rehearsal is as equivalent as physical readiness.” I am learning new things from Ed Mylett’s show everyday. I am currently going through all the videos to make sure I have not missed any of them.

Hello everyone! Be patient. Put God first. Try new methods. Seek for help. Don’t give up. Rely on God. Most importantly, don’t ever forget to serve others. One day, I will become a successful realtor and I’ll be on the Ed Mylett Show. Speaking it everyday, praying on it and also working towards it. I am excited. I passed my real eatate exam on the 4th try. Never give up. Focus on your own journey even if others has passed you by. Be happy for other people successes in order for you to receive blessings from God. I am already working on my post licensing although; I have 2 years to take it but-WHO knows how busy I will be in the next 2 years? Or better yet, who knows if I’ll still be alive? But.. what I do know is THIS TIME that I have now in front of me. Not making any excuses. Finding the courage throughout this pandemic to get out of bed and keep practicing those high impacts habits. I am excited. Thanks Ed Mylett for being my Virtual Mentor. God bless! #Maxout.

As a fan of golf since the 70’s (thanks Dad!!), I LOVED this one. Phil is a phenomenal golfer and human. It’s the human part that has kept me a fan of his. Tiger and some others have been great. But Phil is an incredible MAN. His poise, his talent, his tenacity, and his love have made him the success he is. Thank you, Ed, for asking such intuitive and intense questions of him. I’ve been a fan of his since the beginning of his career, but the insight you brought out of him about his process and his mindset are incredible. I’m grinning ear to ear!!! Thank you both! #MAXOUT

Thanks Ed, awesome opportunity.....Phil is one of my hero's, Ive admired him for years and now I get to hear what drives him and what he attributes to his success in life and his career. I look forward to meeting Phil some day and I have "visualized" that meeting many times in my life and in my own passion for golf. I have wondered what I might talk to him about upon our meeting, and now I have a better idea of how that conversation will take shape. Thank you for sharing this awesome interview with Phil, and thank you Phil for sharing your thoughts and tips to thriving in life and in making the most of our passions in life. The best thing I can point out in this is: "....surround yourself with people who are supportive of your efforts/visions...." which goes along with what Dan Pena says, "show me your friends and I'll show you your future" - life is too short to spend it with people who tear down your vision because they have no vision of their own; or, because they don't believe they can do it then nobody else can either.

@@luxsoy Glad you asked. He doesn't necessarily mention the Law of attraction but he does mention some things that are used in the law of attraction. For example if you think positively then you will have a positive outcome of things. Like Money if you think "The money comes easy" then you will see the positive outcome of money coming easy. Does this make sense. He talks about having a positive and healthy mindset. 😉

@@EdMylettShow So many great moments in this one!! Coming from a golf background I love hearing about the mental side of the sport and Phil is one of the greatest!! His mindset over his career has truly been something to be admired. I loved when he talked about the difference between the guys at the top and the guys who don't make it. "The ability to see the shots before they happen, if you can't see the shot you're trying to execute, you'll never be able to hit it"... Such a great way to approach the game and life as well!! This is priceless, one of the most practical and awesome interviews about visualization of your goals that any one can do for their own craft to achieve greatness. He is also driven by the importance to have a competitor. So much of what Phil says, if you saw David Letterman interview Magic and Bird after "courtship of rivals". they say so many similar things. This is so good, one that has to be listened over and over.

Certain things definetly resonated with me in this video and then there were things that I realized I needed to do better like visualization and making very specific goals- the thing is, and maybe I’m speaking for myself here, but I know I’ve been vague with my goals in the past but that was out of fear, fear of thinking too big and disappointing myself for not achieving what it is I truly wanted, afraid of asking for it and failing. That mentality however, is total BS and I’m realizing it’s far more gratifying to live with certainty and fail than not try at all. This was awesome Ed, thank you!

First of all I want to say I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation! Because I am a woman, and that’s not to discredit any women that are into sports, but for me, because I am not that into sports, it gives me different language and insight that I’m not sure I could grasp otherwise. It really perked me up to essentially learn he knows he is walking in purpose. Additionally, I know I am a wife in the making and when I hear you guys talk, it helps me understand, visualize and ponder on how to become the type of wife that a man on you and Phil’s level needs. All of it is just so great! I was also wildly impressed with your interviewing skills. I’m going to visualize being that thorough as it is my passion to interview, speak and share as much information and insight as I can so that people can evolve mentally and live their best lives!!!

Even if you aren't a golfer (as I am not), surely doing something like this must strengthen your willpower 'muscle'? Training your brain to show it that you are the boss and what you say will get done, gets done. I wonder if this would be one of the critical steps in becoming good at the skill of manifesting.

I'm getting to a turning point in my life where I need to decide what it is I want to do. I went to college right out of high school for graphic design, but it wasn't for me (I didn't like the need to take classes that didn't make me a better graphic designer). And since I dropped out at the end of 2018 I haven't had a job or really had a thought of what I want to do... I've always enjoyed golf. I really got into it at a kinda not so great time meaning it was when Tiger was having really bad back problems and it looked like he'd never return. I also enjoy playing video games A LOT. I've thought about trying to do something with that, but recently I've been having another vision. To become a Pro Golfer and to get wins on the PGA Tour without playing college golf or having the background most Pros have. My main problem with trying to figure out what I want to do is there's so many different things I like doing... but there's not really that ONE thing that I can see myself devoting every ounce of energy and minute of time into while still getting the same enjoyment out of it.

What Ed asked Phil what drives him and why he still competes: PHIL: "Money doesn't drive me. I've been fortunate to be okay there, but what drives me is my passion and love for the game of golf and the challenge of trying to do something that other's can't."

So interesting this topic of visualization...I didn't realize I was doing it and have been for years! Whether it was way back in the day in school with a test or report coming up), learning photo editing, headshot photography, or something else (and especially if I was struggling to learn) and needed to succeed at-I would say to myself, "Imagine you are on the other side of this and mastered whatever it was and it now comes easily. I look ahead at looking back, look ahead at the success and ease that I can perform at. In a week, month, 6 months this won't be so hard...this self-talk is done during the struggle and it is so helpful! #maxout

So many similarities between how Phil shoots and how I “shoot”. I do better when I have fun and don’t give a poop! I also needed this sport to save my mental health. Maybe we can go sniper shooting together one day!

Hi Ed. Loving your channel, your channel is like food for my soul.. Can't thank you enough brother.. I am 53 years of age. I became a self made millionaire at 40.. Than went through a series of very bad decisions.. Than, in 2009 .. almost dead in a head on collision.. woke up in a hospital bed.. no front teeth .. shattered pelvis.. balloons up my nose because my face was caved in.. after which became divorced & homeless.. This January 2020, I have finally been able to walk without crutches.. Now I am starting over again .. I am starting a KZbin channel in a few weeks.. I am going to document my climb back to being a millionaire..! When should I contact you in this quest.. at the beginning or the 1st. Million??

I admire how Phil has always played to win.. I think that's what separates the greats from the rest. Couple takeaways: 1. Visualize : Phil visualized the putt on the 18th at Augusta in 2004, but there is no way he visualized that celebration jump!! One of the greatest moments in sports! I hope he visualizes his celebration ahead of his next major, no doubt his lag will keep him hitting bombs well into his 50's. 2. Sees the value in the supporting crew. Brother, coaches, and Amy... success is not just about him.
