Two things I get from this, Phil was a great baddie back then, and Dennis should’ve never been killed off. They had a good young actor in Nigel who could’ve carried the show for years with his heritage in the show, or even came back sporadically a bit like Grant. This was a good period of EastEnders.

Dennis Rickman was the last best casting EE ever made. Everyone has sucked since. Except Max/Tanya and Ronnie/Roxy. But the casting department clearly needs firing. Dennis also never should’ve been killed off. Send him to prison for the attempted murder of Johnny Allen.

That's different. Jack Dalton originally sent Phil to do a hit on Dennis but decided against it and chose to warn him. It was Dennis's life or Jacks.

@@Senate300 Phil was indebted to Dalton because Dalton agreed not to kill Kate after she went undercover at his club, Dalton called it in by ordering Phil to do a hit on Dennis. As Phil said himself to Dennis, if I don't kill you then Dalton will kill me for not carrying out the order. Phil had his life dependant on Dennis killing Dalton just as much as Dennis's life depended on it.

Den and Phil both treated Dennis like crap when he did them both a favour by getting rid of Dalton. I changed my handle but my channel name will always be called H.K I think. Don’t you think it’s time you changed yours, it’s not 2017 anymore lol. Not that I have a problem with it, but it would be cool if you changed your username every year like next year, you could be called “RandomUploads2024”.

The nerve of Phil. No wonder Sharon cheated on him after he goaded Dennis into attacking Johnny. Worse, Dennis knew Phil was trying to get him to do his dirty work and shouldn't have fallen for it. He almost didn't until Phil told him Johnny attacked Sharon but he still shouldn't have fallen for it. When he got stabbed did he realise he shouldn't have let Phil trick him? Phil is the worst. Dennis tried to walk away about 5 times and Phil stopped him each time. Sharon should have killed Phil for that. Phil is evil for doing that, talking about next 50 years. At least Dennis would have been alive

yeah it would have been better if Dennis stuck around long term and became the show's main Hardman/criminal character especially since he murdered Jack Dalton so not only would his murder threats not be cringe and empty like Phil's are. but him having the kinda reputation among other criminals that Phil seems to have in modern EE would actually make sense given he took out a big time mob boss.

Yeah agree. I think he’ll come back after he finishes his casualty episodes as Max Christy. Nigel Harman was on a show just a while ago and he said never say never when asked about a return as Dennis. He seemed open to the idea. It would have to be a believable storyline but Eastenders can make it work. Maybe they could say he faked his death in order to protect Sharon and the baby from Johnny. That he got told Johnny wanted him killed so he wore protection as some kind of set up to get away from Walford. It’s possible. I like the whole like father like son concept too. 2025 would be 20 years since his return, similar to Den Watts when he returned 20 years later.

I'm not entirely sure that Sean would win considering he got beaten by Phil and Jack. Dennis would wreck Sean especially after seeing him floor Phil and smashed the glasses in the process! What's more, Phil was still in his prime at that time and he got beaten. There was everyone thinking only Grant could beat Phil in his prime. For me the list goes: 1. Grant. 2. Dennis. 3. Phil. 4. Jack. 5. Sean.

Phil would have beat dennis but it would have been a very hard fight for phil like a movie dennis would land the first punch drops phil 😳 then after phil would land a punch and dennis would get dropped then dennis would start kneeing and punching phil then he would get wrestled to the ground by phil then phil would punch him they get back up then dennis would grab and knee his head and punch the back of his head but phil would block the last punch then give dennis a left hook from hell then dennis would be knocked down for a minute then they would talk

Hate Phil so much. He manipulated Dennis when Dennis dropped his guard was happy, moving on even trying to shake Phil's hand showing how much he wanted to get away from the life. Phil couldn't let his so called best friend Sharon have a happily ever after and kept prodding and pushing, he knew telling Dennis would drive him insane. All this because Phil got mugged off and was too much of a coward to do anything to Johnny, Dalton. Dennis was one of the best, my favourite characters. Didn't want to watch after this.
