Good press conference. While I have a lot of concerns, and frankly won't know my full evaluation of this new front office until end of off-season, I'll say it's nice to have actual hope for the first time in years -- ***specifically, I'm talking about Matvei Michkov*** The fans (die hards and casuals) need a genuine star to focus on. Let's hope he's that guy. Also, let's hope they can build properly around him to make this era truly memorable for all of us.

Danny Briere is a breath of fresh fuckin' air in Philly. Do you have any idea how long it's been since I was EXCITED for what the GM, the coaches, the team had to say? What has he done? He wasted this entire year of rebuilding. We only get to draft once per year and in this draft we got a 3C max. There are no other elite assets outside of Michkov. This team is not going to be good anytime soon.

In 1967 I was born in Camden New Jersey across the river from Philadelphia. Yes Camden is a toilet. However my mom had season tickets back in the day and I've been a flyer fan all this time waiting for them to win another cup. It's really hard to put into words how excited I am about what's going on in the Philadelphia flyers organization. Preseason can't come soon enough and the next couple years are going to be amazing I'm sure. LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!!

He is the new Lindros. The player who's supposed to come in, be the face of the franchise, and get this team back into postseason play. He will be treated differently. Like Briere said, he has a skill set that nobody else in the organization has.

Michkov absolutely should be treated differently. *He is the future.* He can do things that no one on this team has been able to do in many, many years. We were truly lucky to draft him. If global political circumstances hadn't been what they are, he likely would have been picked at 2nd or 3rd overall. You can go back and read scouting reports from people who do this professionally and this is the consensus view -- it's not just me saying this as a fan. When you get someone of that caliber, they are the face of the franchise and they set the tempo. It's no disrespect to the other players. Believe me, the other players want to play with someone of that talent. It makes their careers. So yes, if he is as good as we expect, the team absolutely should be treating him differently -- because he is different. Briere and Jones know this, of course. Hopefully Torts will be able to contain himself and not try any of his antics. And if not, then it's up to management to control Torts because he isn't our future -- this kid is.
