Couldn't agree more with David's comment, Phil you're a truly humble guy.

Love that approach. Sounds crazy but I use the same approach with my group(geriatric population). Reinventing ourselves each routine. Obviously not killing them but building understanding, movement quality, literacy base on specificity. Progress isn’t just lifting heavier💪 Regressions can be the best way to progress!

GOLD!! This couldn’t have dropped at any other time for me. I’m getting my certification in S&C and starting to coach boxers.

Coach, so according to this lesson, we don’t need college? I’m in my late 40’s, who’s been a trucker all my life, who wants to change careers. So s&c certifications can help you get in to help ppl?

Yes they can but we never said you don’t need to get a baseline understanding of biomechanics, physiology, anatomy, and communications.

It’s all about confidence my man. Both in relation to your clients confidence in you to train them- and your confidence in yourself to train them. As long as somebody can look at your resume- photo, experiences in the industry, even education, and think to themselves “I’d pay this guy money to coach me” you’re in the door. It cuts both ways, I could be a 22 year old with a bachelors in kinesiology, but it’s not going to mean anything if I’m a fat dude with zero work experience actually coaching. It’s all about real world experience and knowledge and how you can 1. Use it to market yourself and 2. Use it to actually benefit your client Fuck college brah go get a NASM cert and watch hella Phil daru videos you’ll be set
