The point is that most of these companies grossly misrepresent not only the portion size but also the contents of the meal. THAT is the issue.

I was amazed to learn that food on commercials is often not even actual food items, but fake painted up garbage to make it look more appetizing/bigger/cleaner. Like, why not make a commercial with actual real food to show what the genuine product looks like? I can get trying to make the food look appetizing, but if you can't reach 'commercial quality' aesthetic with the real food, maybe don't just lie about it. I remember watching one video that used a mixture of glue and shaving cream for the whipped cream dollop because it doesn't melt down and has more bounce/jiggle without breaking apart. Sure it looks nice, but it's not realistic. I also saw that for like, McDonald commercials they'd use foam and toothpicks to stick their fries up perfectly and to make their burgers look fuller and more appetizing. I think everyone can agree that a commercial big mac vs. real life is a massive difference in what it looks like. And that's not even touching on the fact that many fast food restaurant burgers are now about as thick as a piece of construction paper. It's dire times we live in for fast food I suppose.

@@ErebosGRthe fact they where ran like sweat shops instead of how Mr. Beast wanted is why they failed. There is nothing inherent in the idea that makes them like sweat shops.
@Vendavalez Жыл бұрын
@@ErebosGR I mean exclusively the concept of having one kitchen that can realistically make multiple types of food for different restaurants selling it all out of a single space. Convenient in terms of advertising by themselves certain items that may not be what your dine-in customers normally order and thus not what they think about when they order online from you or that other customers may want but they don’t think about your restaurant when they want to order such items. It also could allow restaurants to experiment with ideas that they don’t want to put their main restaurant name to. Or just, like in this case, put the entire responsibility of coming up with a menu, recipes, and advertising to someone else, and you just sell the food. This can definitely have serious problems where your kitchen becomes a sweatshop. For example, selling food that is too incompatible with what you already sell, this tripling the amount of work for your staff and not even selling twice the food. Or by taking two restaurants worth of orders with only one kitchen worth of staff without having some measures to stop taking orders until the kitchen’s ticket queue decreases. Absolute serious problems that should make you not choose your kitchen for this. But what makes people do it anyway? Greed. That’s the problem here.

It’s not considered a lie in this case unless it’s proven in court that he had intended to cut corners and lie about quality prior to the contract. It seems more like they got in over their head and started cutting corners to grow faster it breaches the contract but it’s not the same as him signing something that wasn’t true. In fact it’s the very reason a contract exists. As for food trucks the problem there is it’s not nearly as scalable and therefore they avoid such a thing. Like getting a contract for $xxxxxxxx amount and breaking it down to a bunch of smaller contracts to vendors who are now doing the thing you are getting paid for and you have no issue VS the concept of owning hundreds of food trucks in each city’s all with mechanical maintenance as-well as equipment upkeep that they own and is a depreciating asset. The ghost kitchens are a contract so there’s much less risk. You basically have a contract saying per burger you make we pay you $5 and we sell that burger for $10. I want to hit back on the claim that Lori Vallow got "her own Netflix documentary." That documentary is about her son Colby, her in-laws, and her friend who ultimately turned her in, and what they went through BECAUSE of Lori's actions. They don't give any ghoulish details about what happened to the children, or her ex-husband, or Daybell's wife. There's this reflex lately against documentaries about murderers, and how people who watch them, or produce them, or create them, must all be creeps and in it for the gore and violence, and that they are all tasteless cashgrabs. The reality is that the majority of documentaries on the subject are the opposite. They are about the victims, and their families, and the hurt and loss that haunts them. They are about the police and how they did, or did not do, their jobs. They offer psychological insight at times. They often have a reminder for us that we should be wary of believing we know what evil looks like, and sounds like. These documentaries play an important educational role in society that tabloids and the fictional Dahmer and Bundy miniseries' do not. I haven't seen the Lifetime show, but to call the Netflix documentary Lori's is a gross misrepresentation of its intent.

A fatal mistake a lot of people make is thinking they can open a restaurant or start a chain by throwing enough money at it. Building a restaurant or a chain like that requires a very thought out plan/point. You have to think in terms of “can this viably exist” and work to make it exist as a brand. It takes lots of work and time and usually personal dedication. I have a lot of opinions about how this lawsuit has no merit.

The whole point of Mr Beast working with them was so THEY could do the work and put the time into make it a success and not him who knows nothing about running a restaurant. And then they turned around and tarnished his brand by being greedy, not caring about the quality of the food and relying on his name to sell it despite the terrible quality. Wasn't very smart of him to trust this company to take care to not tarnish his brand, but it doesn't let them off the hook just because he didn't think it through as well as he should have. I am sure both parties have signed a contract, and the question is does that contract guarantee certain minimum levels of customer service and food quality that this company is now failing to live up to? If so then they lose. If not then Mr Beast was REALLY dumb to sign anything with them without that being in there and he'll lose. Considering nobody knows what is in that contract yet (besides Mr Beast and the company obviously) I don't see how anybody can be judging the merits of this lawsuit yet.
@Zoltan1251 Жыл бұрын
@@StreakyBaconMan I think Mr Beast have nothing to sue them over with. He literally put bad reviews as evidence?!!!! That is so sad. He would have a chance if he picked meat providers, ingredient providers, types of meat, processes etc but he cited bad reviews? Food quality is vague concept, you cant really sue somebody over food that doesnt taste good, just like film that you dont like.
@StreakyBaconMan Жыл бұрын
@@Zoltan1251 If the contract contains things like that they must maintain a certain minimum star rating, or provide a certain level of customer service or if the company say gave examples of customer reviews of the other restaurants they operated and told Mr Beast and his team they can expect that same level of quality for Mr Beast Burger and therefore similar types of reviews then those reviews absolutely would be evidence you'd present in court because it allows you to prove they either violated the contract, or falsely advertised their service. Like I said before we just do not know what is in that contract and therefore can't possibly know if his lawsuit has merit or not. It's equally possible the contract doesn't guarantee any sort of ratings or quality or customer service and he's just upset because he thought it'd go better - I just think we should wait for the actual evidence to come out before deciding that because currently we don't have much to go on. Also I think it'd be foolish to assume that the only evidence Mr Beast presented was these reviews - I am sure there is a lot more evidence being presented on top of those, they are likely just part of the evidence being considered in court.
