The irony is that many pupils in the private schools sa city hindi marunong magtagalog o sa mother tongue din nila at ang teachers kapag nagtuturo ng Pilipino at Araling Panlipunan nag tratranslate sa English. 2nd irony kapag nagbasa ka ng kwento sa English at magtanong ka rin gamit ang English hindi makasagot kase kulang din naman sa comprehension at sa spelling din naman hindi makapag spell. (my general observation po, hindi po lahat pero ito yung mga bata na kinakausap ng purely English ng mga kasambahay , parents, grandparents, nannies sa bahay, na magtanong ka sa bata na grade 3 ng Tagalog tapus sasabihin sa yo - I don't understand)

Lea salonga- became famous in UK playing major role in Miss Saigon ! & soon became famous in USA even she was discriminated when she applied here in US as asian! But now proven she is the best ! Aladdin sang the theme song & more movies using her voice ! Have shows in USA & it's always sold out!

Hindi naman lahat fluent mag Tagalog maski pa lumaki pa sa Pilipinas. I'm from Cebu, and every time nagtatagalog ako, namimilipit yong dila ko. Nabubulol ako. Yong pagbigkas ng mga tagalog words kasi, tingin ko kung d ako nagkakamali, dapat malumanay. Eh, mga Cebuano kung magsalita parang hinahabol 😅. Sobrang bilis. So, pag may kausap ako na mga Tagalog, sinasabihan ko sila talaga na d ako sanay mag Tagalog. Hindi rin ako perfect mag English pero I find it easier na mag English than mag Tagalog. Kung kaya nyo mag bisaya then mag bisaya tayo all day 😅.

The irony is, many(not all) Filipino children who were born abroad were not taught by their parents on how to talk the tagalog or their dialects. Why? Because there is the mentality of talking English makes you cool😂. Kudos to the small number of Filipino parents teaching and instilling the language and culture.

Speaking of English is good but i think still much/Better to know different languages, much more if you are pinoy abroad better teach your children of your language of origin...am more than forty years abroad but haven't forget my bisaya + knew other languages + different kinds of dialects...mabuhay..
