Happened to some of my Sylvania starters, it was just the wires inside that were too close together which caused it to arc between them due to the ballast spike

S10 to zabawka a nie starter ( w sumie wszystko dziś produkowane ) ... by zwarł stary polam to naprawde był cud a S10 to na morgi się wymieniało..

Polamy szybko zapalały świetlówki i były bardzo trwałe, ale też mam kilka zwartych, w których kondensatory nawaliły. Każdy producent i tak zaleca wymianę startera przy każdej wymianie świetlówki. Niestety mało kto tak robi i starter po chwili robi zwarcie uszkadzając nową świetlówkę.

This is Farel OKN but later it was PHILIPS TCS022

@@Meskel_light These fixtures are in my school (we also have some raster and es-system cosmo 1 fixtures). Some were upgraded with Osram Quicktronic Proffessional ballast. Actually I prefer them with the cover taken off

@@q3dev no to w mojej podstawówce były oprawy Philips centura 1 w salach i OKN na korytarzach. Oprócz OKN były jeszcze takie Philipsa z mlecznym kloszem prostokątnym na 1x36W, ale nie znam kodu. To raczej wszystko do dzisiaj działa od 22 lat. W starym gimnazjum była mieszanka wszystkiego. W każdych salach coś innego. Kloszowe i rastry Elgo, chińskie rastry, OKN i rastry Philipsa. W salach nieużywanych zachowały się jeszcze stare OPS w stanie idealnym z mlecznymi kloszami. W liceum większość to były belki BMSp 2x40W, pomalowane kilka razy farbą sufitową. Świeciły praktycznie wszystkie z świetlówkami jakie były pod ręką. Na każdą sale było po 10 opraw i dawały radę. Później wymieniali je na jakieś tandetne chińskie rastry z statecznikami elektronicznymi na zimny start. To trochę zamienić siekierkę na kijek, bo świetlówki będą wymieniać co 3 lata.

I had some 20 of these Philips S10 starter. almost all of them failed

People complain about these starters, but in my case only the very used ones caused a short circuit. These starters should be replaced when the fluorescent lamp is replaced.

@@Meskel_light In my case they were all new as the glass tubes in the starter weren't blackened at all.

@@MiningUranium you can remove the capacitor and it will work.
