6:45 I have often experienced a feeling that I suspect is akin to what he calls the "Small Self Effect" here, but I think may be distinct. I will intentionally find something that I know has never and will never be taken concious note of by anyone else. This could be an individual leaf or blade of grass, an individual nut in a bin, etc. I focus on it; study it; take note of it. When I do this, I am given this sense that I am the only one that will ever take note of this thing. I think of how many things exist from begining to end without ever being conciously considered by a being capable of thought. This object becomes special as it is the one singled out to have thought paid to it. I feel vast and special (almost magical) that I can be one of the few capable of doing this; considering this object or any object. In this, I do not feel small, but vast. That is until I consider if there is something similar to consideration or thought that can be done by another being, scaled up from me as I am from the blade of grass. Am I, little un-notable thinking thing, ever considered by a greater being? Would I notice, or even be able to? Or, like so many blades of grass, do I live and die without ever having my existence considered by a greater being? Yeah. That is when I start to feel small. And I love it.
