The only comparable here is that it sucks not to be wanted. Lindros told the Nordiques flat out before the draft to take the next man up, I won't play for you if you pick me. The Nordiques went ahead and drafted him anyway, knowing that. Cutter stood up there on the stage and dawned the Flyers Jersey and said all the right draft day cliche statements. Then he pulls some passive-aggressive bull shit to get himself traded.

I am laughing hysterically at Flyer fans who are mortified over Cutter Gauthier. For you young hockey newbies, look up a fella by the name of Eric Lindros. I'd just hate for a Quebec Nordiques fan to wander into the comments section and accuse you of hometown hypocrisy.

How can we accurately compare Lindros and Cutter? Lindros told the Nordiques before they drafted him that he wouldn’t play for QC but yet they did. Cutter on the other hand didn’t change his mind until a year and a half later. Regardless the Flyers got an exceptional return and Gauthier has minimal trade value atm and on one of the worst teams in the league.
