It speaks volumes to Phoebe’s talent of how much Nashville/Los Angeles/NYC guitar royalty plays with her. All these phenomenal players: Jackson Browne, (underrated as a sheer guitar player) Julian Baker, Blake Mills, Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and my personal favorite, Harrison Whitford. He’s one of my favorites of the LA sideman/studio guitar scene, and his talents for tone and note choice are never as more present as when they do Motion Sickness live. I know her listeners are pretty music savvy people, but I don’t think people comprehend JUST how much musical talent she attracts. It speaks volumes of her instincts as a songwriter and producer that they all want to work for her.
