It's obvious that Child of Magic 2013 was trying to do what Turnabout Sisters 2002 did: go for more subdued instruments to signify a state of maturity and comfort with the character in question. I don't think it worked as well for Trucy, mainly because Dual Destinies has so many shifts in character duos throughout the story, meaning the dynamic of Apollo and Trucy takes a major back seat. With JfA and T&T, the Phoenix/Maya duo is one of the few unchanging elements from one case to the next. The times that it does change are extremely important narratively, where Maya's unavailability is an extremely important element of suspense in both games' final cases.

I'd rather have that be her theme in a lawyers' dedicated episode. As for Susato... that's kind of more on the melancholic side? That'd be for like, a dedicated "sad" themes episode.
