In this series we detail the mayor photoelectric sensor types and demonstrate their uses. For part 1 of the series we take a look at how thru-beam sensors work by examining the Datalogic S100 Universal Miniature sensors.

I looked up the model and it looks like it has a few GPIO pins you can utilize. The S100 Thru-Beam has 4 wires (10...30VDC, -0V, Output, Remote) for the receiver and just power/ground for the emitter. As long as you can provide power and ground to both senors I don't see why you couldn't connect the Output wire to a GPIO pin and send that through the wireless module you have. The output from the sensor would be on/off only. I'm not familiar with the ESP8266 so you may have to test it, and I'm unsure if you can provide power for the senor through that module. Good luck!

Esp 8266 is not capable of powering the sensor. Also the output of the sensor has to be scaled within the range of 0-3.3V. If we r directly giving the output to the esp module it will be burnt.

For object presence detection, you can use ir sensor module which will well works with esp
