I appreciate it when people take the time to explain in non-elitist methonds and terms. I have a D7200 and a D800, and sadly I admit that a lot of my shots I get are just out of constantly adjusting. Trying to find the perfect settings are not always the easiest of tasks when shootings indoor concerts. I do appreciate the way you explained the functions/terms. Many thanks!
@photogenius6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Indoor concert photography can be tricky, a lens with a large aperture is generally preferred Best wishes. Paul@ Photo Genius.

Very educational. I have a B500 Nikon camera and when outside, I can't see the monitor as it doesn't light up enough for me to see what I am trying to take a shot of. I have the monitor set at 5. How do I change this so I can actually see my subject on the monitor. At present, it is too dark to see anything outside in the sunlight. Thank you.

I've been a working professional for over 40 years. I ONLY use manual mode in the studio (with studio lighting). I typically use Aperture Priority with the EV compensation dial. This allows me to set the aperture I need (for the most appropriate depth of field) and LEAVE it there, while tweaking exposure through the EV comp. If manual is used, it is too easy to end up having moved the aperture (or shutter speed) away from the original desired setting.

What is the best program mode shutter speed to create background blur while shooting moving objects?
@photogenius6 жыл бұрын
This depends on how quickly the subject is moving, try using Shutter Priority mode (S) and start with a shutter speed of 1/50 (this is a good speed for cycles / runner etc), if you get too much blur increase the shutter speed (for faster moving subjects like cars etc). In the Shutter Priority mode the camera will adjust the aperture for you. Thanks for watching.
