That moment when you and a giant wild animal make prolonged eye contact. You can see the beast has a soul and an uncomprehensible intelligence. It humbles you. 🐘

Yes, not "it" but "Elephant ". At least the Elephants are at one with nature, not humans. Any other "soul" on Earth is not destroying everything it touches, humans are basically a virus that should not be here.

@SamhainBe
@SamhainBe 3 жыл бұрын
@Master Of None "God's Word" - The Bible - yes, I do know. Job 12:7-10 speaks to us on this and in Genesis it tells us that God created all living things and while he may have given us dominion over the animals, He gave the animals hearts, lungs, brains, circulatory systems, the ability to reproduce, feel pain, comfort, and companionship just like man. The "spark" or "light" that is life instilled in us by God is also in the living creatures he provided for us. To deny this is to deny Creation itself.

My reading of what happened is that they were blocking their path with their car. The road was very narrow where the car stopped. The elephants were simply waiting for them to get out of the way. When that did not happen, and since no one was aggressive on the human side, eventually they changed course. You can see they were returning from the river. They are extremely intelligent animals.

I was watching a video a few years ago about a couple that go to an area with a specific herd that will not allow humans anywhere close to them because the adults had experienced all the poaching when they were babies and remember it. Literally you see how agitated they get even if humans are more than 100 yards away. Humans don’t give nature’s creatures the credit they deserve when it comes to the way they think and feel, we need to start showing ALOT more respect for them.

(maim, not mane - autocorrect?) I can understand the sentiment. After you've lived in all sorts of settings (rural, suburban, urban, native and foreign) and most places you live there is violence. Here is the trend - the more urban, the greater the odds of violence. Difference in beliefs (political or religious) the greater the odds of violence. Those differences can transcend the population density setting. One more thing. One false move anywhere close to one of those baby elephants - accidental or intentional won't matter - and those adult elephants will show you just how they can choose to maim or kill.

That's the Matriarch the big one. Males don't lead the herd only a female. Once males mature they are kicked out the herd because of interbreeding. They walk alone or until they find a male herd.

Bull elephants when they get to a certain age pushed out of the heard. So it would be the matriarch that came forward.

I see that you love animals but humanizing them doesn't help. They are animals. They have no superpower or anything. If you truly love them you have to accept that they can't adapt to new situations like human beings can. That's why mankind is so successful (in a darwinistic way). We are responsible to protect them from ourselves because they can't. Their fate is in our hands because we are superior (sadly).
