A uniform rope of length 13 m and mass 13kg tied on a peg A on a wall passes over a frictionless peg B fixed in level with the peg A as shown in the figure. If in equilibrium, length of the rope hanging between the pegs is 8 m.
1. Find the angle which the rope makes with the wall at the peg A.
2. Find the force exerted by peg B on the string.
A rope of length l placed straight on a frictionless horizontal floor is pulled longitudinally by a force F from one of its ends. Tensile force T developed in the rope at a distance x from the rear end varies with x as shown in the graph. What can you certainly conclude about density of the rope?
a) It is uniform
b) It decreases with distance x from the rear end
c) It increases with distance x from the rear end
d) It is maximum in the middle and decreases towards the ends. Advanced problems Playlist

Nice questions. Sir, we could do the last question in this way too. If we take a section of rope near the 0 mark and one section near the "l" mark, we can see that the difference in force is more for the former. The difference in force corresponds to the net force acting on that section and since they have same acceleration, higher the net force, higher the mass, and since length is also same, higher the mass, higher the mass density.

Woh syllabus mein nahi hai psuedoforces in a rotationing frame are -m w×(w×R) and -2m w×v where R and v are the position and the velocity vector of a particle with respect to the rotationing frame of reference.

Sir if we have to conserve angular momentum it has to be conserved in inertial as well as in non ineetial frame also .....

In non intertial frame we should also look for pseudo torque due to pseudo force

Sir you took tension same at the left and right portions of point b because there was no friction . I agree with your point but there was gravity and the rope has some mass . So why tension is same? Sir please reply.

Can you find the equation of hanging rope?? Please make video on this..

Equation can be obtained by making differential equation taking small element. equation obtained is hyperbolic functions , also known as catenary. I don't think its in JEE. In JEE the depth of vertex and radius of curvature at a point can be asked. equation is derived in David Morin

tension at a point is always along the string that means along the tangent at that point.... and it will be a pulling force away from the body
