Hey Stefan, thank you for all your reviews - I got Alfred All In One a few months ago based on your videos, and couldn't be happier! Have you heard of the Meridee Winters Chord Crash Course books by any chance? I just saw this on Amazon, they have glowing reviews and it looks like they are taking a different approach to get the students playing right away. It would be interesting to know your opinion if they're worth getting or not. Thanks again!

Did you ever get more info on the Meridee Winters Chord Crash Course books? I'm also curious about this series and just started looking into them. They're well reviewed on Amazon but cant' seem to find anyone in the YT Piano Community that talks about them. If you see this, can you please share with me what you know about them? Or a YTer who posts/discusses them?

@@amaam89 I didn't buy them since I was also looking for a video review before deciding, but if you google the title of the first book, one of the top results should be the official website and they show you the first few pages with all of the chapters. It looks like it's more of a pop/jazz-oriented approach to learning the piano, definitely looks more fun than Alfred's to get started. Alfred's is a bit dry and boring at times but I'm happy with the results so idk, just get whatever method book you find the most appealing and try to stick with it. It doesn't really matter in the end, as long as you practice consistently you'll see results!

I love what you said about the technique in Piano Adventures, no one else does it like them (that I have seen!) The weight of 4 or 5 books is just so much to keep track of though, and can make an already slow method even slower. After 12+ years of using this method I feel like it's finally driving me crazy. I recently switched some students to the Bastian New Traditions All In One books, and them seem to be much similar to European methods with their pacing. However, I miss the technique from Piano Adventures. I'm debating on using technique from PA, then the All In One from Bastian. OR buckling down and getting the condensed versions and paying the shipping 🥲 Or I'm going to try Helen Marla s "Succeeding at the piano" series which is like the UK piano adventures. I still love the PA supplementary books because there is something for everyone-- a fun book for a student to look forward to. It's a huge plus for PA, and can easily go with any method. This is such a long winded comment, but thanks again for all your reviews. As someone who cares so deeply for her students and spends hours researching for them, I appreciate your in-depth reviews. I can tell you care deeply for your students and profession too.

What do you think of the Alfred Premier series? I like both the standard and express versions

The Spanish website of Faber tells you to go to the lvl 6 books after the two adults, instead to lvl 3. I found it strange, particularly because the adult books seem to be identical (at least the one that is actually translated, the first one), so either there is a lot of differences between the USA and European/Spanish version or they made a mistake.

it's definitely a mistake. there is no book 6, it only goes up to book 5

It's no a mistake. For spanish version. Lvl 1 is equal to pre, lvl 2 ES= lvl 1 US and so on. So Lvl 6 spanish version = lvl 3B us version. Spanish version condenses some concepts from lvl 4 & 5. You can check the table contents for each version to confirm it.
