Nice to see you back. Your lessons are some of the best. I've had your page not only bookmarked but open for years waiting for you to move away from CDs. It was the only thing keeping me from buying. The new site and online products are great. I can finally purchase. It would be great if you could also continue tips on KZbin regularly.

Very good lesson ! I wonder how many young people take advantage of people on KZbin like yourself, that are willing to help people learn. In 1970, when I was 14 yrs old, I couldn't find a soul anywhere to teach me to play piano by ear ! The people that knew how, didn't want to help you. Luckily, I finally found one man and I was the only student he ever had. His son(Tony Brown was playing piano for The Oak Ridge Boys then Elvis and is now a record producer. I think youtube and folks like yourself are a real blessing ! Thanks !

When I go for the tension, is it always going to be the fourth chord of every scale?
@GospelFrancis
@GospelFrancis 4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. In this video, if we take the D scale, the fourth chord is G and the tension chord is actually F#m (inversion). If we take the G scale, the fourth chord is C and the tension is on Bm (inversion). Usually a tension chord can be a diminished chord. For eg, in G scale, try playing the following run.. G D Eb dim Em

Thanks a lot!! A question for you, imagine we are on the C scale, so I start with C chord and do sus2, then I go to Em chord and do sus2 also; well that chord will include F# which is not part of the C scale, so would sound weird. So in this case this would be a chord that I couldn't really transform to a SUS2 if I am on the C scale?? or do it anyway? thanks
