Mantap bang, bagaimana bisa gua yang dari dulu suka musik klasik baru tahu kalo gamelan ternyata enak gini di dengerin 😂😂 Pas kecil sempat gak suka sama gamelan karena nadanya kedengaran monoton tapi sekarang entah kenapa jadi suka lagi, dah seharian ngabisin minggu dengerin gamelan doang 😂😂

Hi thanks for your reply! Well, as you see, there were 2 pianos, one is prepared piano (following John Cage's treatment set-up) and another one "Steinway" is normal piano. It's practically quite impossible to tuned everything in Gamelan's pelog or slendro, as the system used are different (Gamelan doesn't follow diatonic scale).. So I prepared it to mimic the timbre of the metallic sound - similar to the Bonang / Gender from the Gamelan

You should try re-tuning a piano in pelog or at least a mean of pelog (since there isn't neccesarily an exact measurement because of regional deviations) ,its truly a scale hard to fit into western practice faithfully because of how different it is constructed and used 0.0 ,further more I really like how you are exposing a much more western audience to this unique music but I think that gamelan music loses its chroma and aesthetic without the original tuning :(
