Minor detail that I love: when Picard got up to get more tea, he instinctively grabbed Geordi's tea as he passed--that tiny little gesture of courtesy is something that can be very easily forgotten in these sorts of scenarios. It lets you know that these people really are comfortable with each other, and they help each other without a second thought, even when there aren't any stakes to it.

I really like these kinds of things too! Another example, but maybe more staged than this, is in season 1 when an enemy is beamed onto the bridge and Data immediately steps in front of the captain to protect him from potential harm. There are other things but this is what came to mind first lol
@paimannamazi11283 жыл бұрын
Did you also notice that he gave him back the wrong cup? Picard grabbed the cup from Jordy with his right hand, but when he returned the cup Jordy, he gave him the cup from the left-hand.

@@timothythomad5529 It is also simply logical. As Picard is going to the replicator anyway, then it would be additional unnecessary effort to have them both go up to the replicator one after the other. So, I would consider it demonstrative of good leadership that he would do this, as only a self-important idiot would such an impractical decision for such a trivially unimportant reason. You wouldn't want to serve under a leader who made such bad decisions for inconsequential reasons. They would prove to be a poor leader. A good leader cares to achieve the best outcome for all. If that requires shovelling shit all day, then hand me my shovel. If you think it's all about you, then you're not a leader and should stand down for someone who actually is.

I've seen this a few times, but I just noticed something; When Picard starts his story, he refills his and Geordi's cups, and Geordi just grabs his expecting the captain to take it. I think it's these super tiny things that make you get the sense this is a moment between friends.
