Out of all the guys you bring in to demo, this dude is my favorite. Great tone, great playing. Cheers.

I'm not saying it's the greatest invention since sliced bread, but contrary to what Trevor Boone implies at around 1:10, the ES-345's Varitone had nothing to do with its stereo wiring.

Great gear and demo! Just curious Karl, for the slightly "gainier" parts, was that 2nd channel of the smallbox or a pedal in front of the plexi channel?
@karlvandervelden33734 жыл бұрын
2nd channel, yes. I had a little footswitch in front of me that I stepped on to go back and forth. Super cool little amp!

Not sure if Gibson put together matched pickup sets in 1959, with the narrower polepiece spacing for the neck pickup, but they sure did so later on. So this pair could both be original.

Sounds awesome, I can stand by Friedman amps ive got the Dirty Shirley and it sounds phenomenal no pedals played with my Les Paul R8. they cost a lot of money but sound like a lot of money.

I love these guitars. I have a mono reissue. I personally would keep the varitone and just make it mono.
@luapnoguob98284 жыл бұрын
No!!! Leave it original and just plug into two amps or into two different inputs with the stereo cable !

Covert it to mono, but keep the Varitone, it some cool tones in it. I have a 2014 reissue of this, and love it. Gibsons done the right thing and made the reissues mono. If only I can get to play an original.

I’m gonna say that I believe that this is three tones sunburst not tobacco sunburst. It’s got way too much red in it. I own one of these and it’s listed as a three tone sunburst. You said it was tobacco and I disagree. Respectfully.

Nah, I prefer this type of playing in guitar videos when it sounds like "music" being played rather than random blues noodling. That's also what makes Andy's demos enjoyable imo.
