I did the same thing about 5 months ago, I bought a small binder and I only buy cards that I like to put inside. Sometimes that means a $5 card, sometimes it means a $90 card. As long as I only buy cards that I like, I'm not bothered by the price fluctuating or anything like that.

I am also collecting nature themed cards!!!! Thought I was the only person doing that. Some of the affordable ones that I really love are the Skuntank V Alt Art from Silver Tempest, the Beedrill V Alt Art from Astral Radiance and the Celebi V Alt Art from Fusion Strike.

Any advice for collecting 1st edition WOTC sets? I recently got back into collecting, and aiming to complete Base Set 2 and Gym Challenge 1st. I was looking on eBay for non-holo sets, but a lot of people only give 1-2 Limited Editions, and the sets tend to be mixed or so pricey, I'm not sure if TCGplayer is better than trying my luck on eBay.

I got a question, is anyone looking at collecting alt arts in psa 9? I understand it may be a junk slab but the fall off in price from psa 10 to 9 for modern alt arts is crazy. I feel like you can have a nice collection of psa 9s without breaking the bank. In some cases the 9s are about the same price as the raw card. Thanks for the video Jake!

This is a very subjective question, but I want the opinion of a known collector: how do you collect a master set regarding non-holos and reverse holos? I''m thinking of just hiding the non-holos behind their reverse holo/holo counterparts, but others seem to put each card side by side. I want to save space on my binders, and I find putting the same artworks side-by-side redundant. Looking forward to your thoughts!

How to get all of the Evolving Skies alt arts - alongside Jake's advice, I would say take an audit of your own collection and ask yourself "What from my collection can I do without?" And that you can sell, raise some collection dollars, and reinvest into your collection with those cards you really want 👍

VSTAR Universe is already below $90... I suspect it will be around $70 by the time the American Zacian and Zamazenta collection boxes come out. I also think Japanese singles will be at an all time low at that point in time. And THATS when I am going to be going all in with my VSTAR Universe purchasing

for next wideo. Hey Jack, i have this one most expensive card in my Zapdos collection, with PSA authenticated autograph. I found out that u can grade card and signature in PSA but i got that one without card grade and only signature authentication without grade too. At least it is only POP 6. My question is, if artist will die, can i prepare for price rocket or u think it is not so rare to got autograph card. I found few collectors who have like tons of signature of this artist on different, more or less popular cards. One signature on a card sometimes cost around 90-140$ for signature during meeting with artist. I started to see signature cards not so much rare cuz of that. Can you light me up which artist signature might be really hard to find? Should i upgrade to PSA graded card and graded autograph and look for that perfect 10s ?

I enjoy this video format, but the questions that were picked could be better. A lot of "should I pick this up now or wait?" It's always the same answer. If a set is out of print, buy the card. If the set will be reprinted in the future, don't buy just yet.

Vstar universe is a great set. The God pack set is cool as well. Significantly more affordable in English so I think I'll just display those. But the Japanese ones are definitely more premium

You need to use the card saver I loaders. Put it in a clear sleeve before you do that. And do not press down on top of the card with your fingernail when you push it in.

Should I open the promo cards I got from scarlet and Violet preorder or keep the plastic seal on them? Idk the best recommendation for promo cards that are sealed in plastic to grow in value over time.

They're really similar so its usually down to personal preference. Unless you need to rip them open to grade or to keep in a binder. I would leave them sealed.
