Exactly. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a traumatic or a hurtful incident that triggered the emotion. Every atheistic viewpoint that rejects the Quran not because of any rationale or reason for statement but because of certain laws and commands is emotional as well. The typical "oh come on" or "Such law is in the Quran, I don't think God would give that law because I subjectively don't like it but I'm gonna pretend it's objectively wrong, God doesn't exist" arguments. Even though every single piece of logical and deductive data alongside the whole of the Quran points to the exact opposite that yes, God does exist. Also, empiricism has been falsly attributed to atheism because it has been approached mainly by atheists in the past couple centuries. Same exact empirical data approached by a muslim is data for the existence of The Creator. Emperical data is just an input, the conclusion one draws is a function of that input.

A large amount on both sides have their belief because of emotional reason rather than logical. "It's real because my family raised me to believe it's real" "It's fake because my family treated my horribly under it" "My life was bad until I converted." "My life was horrible until I got away from it" Etc, etc. Making logical points to everyday people wont get you very far because they don't invest in the time it takes for proper understanding. We all may know math, but you can't talk physics to just anyone.

Personally, my core reason for not believing in the Abrahamic God is that I find the written Word of God to be poor at best, if intended to induce awe, adoration, faith and confidence in/for the Abrahamic God. The tales of Adam and Eve are just blatant victim blaming when God made them a very specific way, followed by the tale of Jesus being a very barebones attempt at emotional manipulation that makes no sense when you look at the motivation. The tale of Mohammed/Muhammed, I'm not particularly familiar with but it's still built upon the same abrahamic foundation and so, falls with the rest.
@mohammedjafferali693Ай бұрын
You generalization of Islam having an abrahamic foundation in the sense of a judeo-christian tradition is incorrect. The judeo Christian tradition is corrupted from the original revelation. Advent of Prophet Muhammad was also calling out their distorted traditions. You mentioned Adam and his fall, the person of Adam and Eve being in paradise is present in Islamic tradition as well, but the stories and conclusions are different. We don't believe God punished Adam and Eve.

@@mohammedjafferali693 Interesting. No promises, because at this point in my life I wouldn't be surprised if my biases and odd sense of pride have completely shut me off from faith as a concept, but I'll give the Quran a proper try as a standalone religious text. Thanks for the response! :)

@@bastil5856 The skeleton of the stories is the same but the devil is in the details. Adam and Eve were innocent and child like only hearing truth from God never hearing a lie before. There is no room for contradictory belief of the original sin. They cannot be justly held accountable for their forgetfulness. They learnt repentance and God's forgiveness. Humanity inheriting Earth was ordained before Adam's very creation, it is not seen as a punishment but just another blessing from God that cannot be recompensated. Another example that I recall is Moses returning to find children of Israel worshipping the heifer, setting up idols while being in a covenant with God is the most heinous sin. In the Bible Moses with the tribe of Levi attacks them and ends them, while in the Qur'an Moses tells them to repent and end themselves. The difference is small but paints a very different picture, even for something deemed unforgivable, one last chance at sincerity can make exceptions.

Yeah no argument can convince me that god is real. I would need physical evidence.

Right? Considering there's no evidence for God, yet you require physical evidence to prove "he" doesn't exist?

I don’t think the concept of religion is irrational, it’s literally embedded into us through genes. But the dogma definitely is negative for many reasons. I’m more of a deist myself.
@jozepeАй бұрын
@@CG-xx2er Genes are responsible for a persons religiousness, but there are other factors involved. And there are no genes responsible for a specific religion. I think maybe we agree that spirituality is not irrational. But my point is that the dogma associated with organized religion is irrational
