Wiggle method worked on a 2nd hand OnGuard user settable 4 wheel cable lock in about 30 seconds! Wow! Key lock if you want to keep your bike, that's for sure. Thanks for the tips!

Yes this method is quite handy sometimes. I find it pretty exhausting to constantly pull the two halfs apart. Well done, you might have developed some special bike lock pulling muscles ;-)

Tight! ... if the 1st wheel is on the correct number, the next wheel should be tight to turn while under tension. If the 1st wheel isn't on the correct number, the next wheel wont tighten up (or not as much) while under tension. Once you're figured out the 1st wheel, do the same thing on the 2nd wheel (ie trying numbers on the 2nd wheel to see if it tightens up turning the 3rd wheel while under tension) and keep do that for all the wheels.

If you don't get the first binding wheel on the correct number then the rest of the wheels wont work at all ... so you have to get the first wheel right. The first wheel should be the one that's hardest to turn when tension is applied. After you have determined which is the binding wheel (usually one of the wheels at the end) then try every number on it, turning the wheel next to it under tension ... one of the numbers on the first wheel will make the 2nd wheel harder to turn, and if so, leave the first wheel on that number as it will be the right number for the first wheel. If you're unsure, go through the numbers several times, as it's really important to get the first wheel correct. Then after getting the first wheel correct, do the same on the 2nd wheel, trying every number and turning the 3rd wheel under tension to see which one tightens up a bit. I found a lock similar n same locks I try yr method bcus it too tight... Still can't found d number from right.. is d any other method how to open d combo locks.. i also start from 4 digit 0000

You could wear gloves if the wheels are hard to turn, or you could test instead of the next wheel to the left, test two wheels away (to see if it's tighter to turn under tension, when you pull both ends as if you're trying to open it) ... or even 3 wheels away like in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZXUXnWaaNuYbrs
